Amazon Prime gets a price hike, monthly plan now starts at Rs. 299 and 3-months subscription at Rs.599

Amazon India has increased the prices of its monthly and quarterly Prime subscriptions in India. This is the first price hike in 16 months.

The monthly subscription cost increased from Rs 179 to Rs 299, which is about a 67% hike and also 3-months subscription price increased and now its costs Rs 599.

But, there have been no changes in the Amazon prime annual subscription, which still comes at Rs 1,499 

Amazon also offers a Prime Lite subscription for Rs 999 per year, which provides Prime Video streaming in SD quality and free 2-day delivery.

The price hike is effective from April 27, 2023 for new users, while existing users can continue to get the Prime membership at the old pricing till Jan 15, 2024

Amazon Prime membership provides various benefits, such as free same-day/1-day delivery, Prime Video, ad-free Amazon Music, Prime Reading, Prime Gaming.

It seems like Amazon India pushing users to buy annual subscription rather than monthly or 3-months subscription.
