A Symbol of Unification is one of the earliest moments in ARC Raiders that highlights the game’s blend of world-building and exploration. The objective is simple on paper—collect a Raider Flag and raise it at the Formicai Outpost—but getting there, navigating the structure, and locating the exact hoisting point can be confusing the first time you attempt it.
This mission is given by Celeste, who asks you to raise a flag to symbolize hope and unity among the scattered survivors. It’s a small quest mechanically, but it gives a strong sense of place and encourages you to explore one of Dam Battlegrounds’ more isolated points of interest—the Formicai Outpost.
How to Reach the Formicai Outpost
Formicai Outpost sits on the southern edge of Dam Battlegrounds, perched high on a hill in the Formicai Hills region. It becomes easier to spot once you zoom all the way into your map: look for a lone rusted tower on top of a steep rise. You can approach the outpost using winding paths on either side of the hill, both of which are safe but tight enough that you should stay alert for other raiders along the climb.
Where to Find the Raider Flag Inside the Outpost
After climbing up to the outpost’s top level, enter the structure through the narrow, dim hallway at the back. To your immediate right, you’ll find a small living space with a bed and backpack lying on it. This is the bag you need to interact with. Looting it gives you the Raider Flag required for the next step of the quest.
Depending on which path you used to reach the outpost, this room may be slightly off-angle from your entry point, so sweep the interior calmly to avoid missing it.
Where to Hoist the Raider Flag
With the flag collected, head toward the central circular area of the outpost. From here, walk straight through the doorway that leads you outside onto the platform overlooking Red Lake.
The flagpole is positioned to your left as soon as you step out. A clear interaction prompt lets you place the Raider Flag and raise it.
Hoisting the flag completes the main objective and triggers the end of the mission.
Rewards for Completing A Symbol of Unification
Once the flag is raised, you’re free to extract from Dam Battlegrounds and return to Speranza. For completing the quest, you’ll receive:
- Aviator Outfit
- 3× Mod Components
- 5× Duct Tape
These early-game rewards are helpful for expanding your crafting options and customizing your Raider’s appearance.
