Vampires in The Sims 4 can be fun to play, but not every player wants their Sim to live like a creature of the night forever. Whether it’s the need for plasma, avoiding sunlight, or dealing with vampire powers, you might decide it’s time for your Sim to go back to being human. Luckily, there’s a way to cure vampirism in the game. Here’s how to do it, step by step.

What You’ll Need to Cure Vampirism
To make your vampire Sim human again, you’ll need to create a special drink called The Ultimate Vampire Cure. It can’t be bought—you have to unlock and craft it. This drink removes all vampire powers and turns your Sim back into a regular human.
Your Sim won’t have their vampire powers or needs anymore after drinking the cure. But don’t worry—it’s not permanent. If you ever want your Sim to become a vampire again, that’s still possible.
Step 1: Level Up the Vampire Lore Skill
To unlock the recipe for the cure, your Sim must reach Level 15 in the Vampire Lore skill. You can build this skill in a few ways:
- Use a computer to research vampire secrets.
- Buy and read books from the Encyclopedia Vampirica series.
Start by buying the first book on the computer. Once your Sim finishes reading it, the next volume becomes available on bookshelves. You have to read each volume in order until your Sim reaches Level 15. That’s when they unlock the ability to craft the cure.
And don’t worry—any Sim in your household can learn this skill and make the cure. The vampire who needs it doesn’t have to be the one who knows how.
Step 2: Gather Ingredients and Simoleons
Now that your Sim knows the recipe, you’ll need to collect some items and money to make it. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 10 Garlic
- 10 Wolfsbane
- 10 Plasma Fruit
- §2,500 Simoleons
You can order seed packets for garlic, wolfsbane, and plasma fruit using a computer. Open the packets to get the ingredients, or plant them and wait for them to grow.
If your vampire doesn’t have garlic immunity, ask another Sim to harvest the garlic and put it in the fridge. Then, the vampire can still use it to make the cure without getting sick from the smell.
Also, you can’t just spend extra money to skip collecting the ingredients. The game won’t let you make the cure unless all the items are in your Sim’s inventory or fridge.
Step 3: Make the Cure and Use It
Once you have everything ready, head to a bar. Your Sim can use a bar object at home or visit any lounge or nightclub in town.
Click on the bar and select “Make Drink” → “The Ultimate Vampire Cure.” You don’t need a high Mixology skill—just Vampire Lore Level 15 and the right ingredients.
Once the drink is made, your vampire Sim must drink it themselves. Sims can’t serve this drink to others or tell someone else to drink it. The vampire has to choose to do it on their own.
How to Cure Other Vampires
If you want to cure another vampire (especially one who’s not in your household), it’s a little harder—but still possible.
- Invite them to move in: Once they live with you, they can drink the cure just like any other Sim.
- Use the Slay Vampire interaction: If your Sim has the cure in their inventory and doesn’t have a good relationship with the vampire, they can fight. If they win, they throw the cure in the vampire’s face and it works instantly.
If you have the Home Chef Hustle Stuff Pack, there’s another method. You can set up a food stall, put the cure in it, invite the vampire over, and encourage them to buy the drink. If they do, they’ll cure themselves without needing to move in.
Optional: Use Cheats or Mods (PC Only)
If you don’t want to go through all the steps, there’s a quick way to do it with cheats (on PC only).
Open the cheat console with Ctrl+Shift+C
and type:
testingcheats on
traits.remove_trait trait_OccultVampire
This will turn a vampire Sim back into a human right away.
You can also use mods like MC Command Center to manage Sim traits and remove vampirism easily.
Can Sims Become Vampires Again?
Yes. If you change your mind, a cured Sim can go back to being a vampire. They can ask a vampire to turn them again or be bitten if a vampire with the Vampire Creation perk offers.
So, curing vampirism doesn’t lock your Sim out of supernatural life forever.
Curing a vampire in The Sims 4 takes some time, but it’s a clear and rewarding process. You’ll need to grow your skills, gather the right ingredients, and spend a bit of money. But once you have everything, it’s just a matter of mixing the cure and drinking it.
If you’re short on time or just want a quick fix, cheats and mods are available. But using the official in-game method makes the cure feel more like part of your Sim’s story. Whether you’re building a human family legacy or just giving your vampire a fresh start, this is the way to do it.
