Dead by Daylight’s latest mid-chapter update, Version 9.3.0, is rolling out across most platforms — but Xbox players are receiving the update later. Behaviour Interactive confirmed that the patch is delayed on Xbox with no official ETA yet, though they will announce a new time window as soon as it’s ready.

Even with the delay, Xbox users can preview exactly what’s coming. This patch introduces major gameplay adjustments, killer and survivor updates, map balance changes, UI upgrades, and a huge list of bug fixes.
Major Features in Update 9.3.0
This patch puts a heavy focus on hook gameplay, aiming to reduce frustration for Survivors while keeping Killers from being unfairly punished.
Resolve Bar Now Visible to All Survivors
A major quality-of-life improvement allows every Survivor to see the Resolve Bar whenever someone is hooked.
This brings solo queue players closer to the information advantages of coordinated teams, as everyone can now identify when facecamping is occurring and react appropriately.
Anti-Facecamp Meter Tuning
Instead of relying solely on proximity, the system now scales based on how long the Killer stays near the hook:
- 0–10 seconds: normal charge rate
- 10–20 seconds: double charge rate
- 20+ seconds: quadruple charge rate
To balance these new multipliers, the base filling speed has been reduced, making the system more precise overall.
Global Grace Period After Hooking
Whenever a Survivor is hooked, all hooked Survivors receive a 7-second grace period. Previously, only the most recently hooked player benefited.
This prevents accidental meter progression when Killers pass by other hooks.
Stronger Post-Unhook Movement
Survivors now receive 15 seconds of Endurance and a 10% Haste boost—giving them a more reliable window to reposition or rejoin teammates.
AFK Crow Adjustments
Crow timers have been tightened, rolling back earlier, overly generous values:
- New spawn timings: 80 / 100 / 120 seconds
This places more pressure on inactive players without returning to the harsher original system.
Killer Balance Updates
The Shape
His Slaughtering Strike now uses standard camera controls, improving consistency and reducing awkward turning during the attack.
The Skull Merchant – Significant Buffs
This patch gives her Drone system a substantial uplift:
- Faster Drone rotation
- Increased Hindered effect when scanned
- Lower Deploy Drone cooldown
- Shorter Undetectable time after placement
- Scan Lines no longer allow fast-vault immunity
- Lock-On now builds gradually instead of instantly
- Drone sensitivity to the Killer reduced for better reliability in tight rooms
These changes collectively push her lethality upward and make Drone interactions clearer for Survivors.
Killer Add-On Reworks
Cenobite – Original Pain
Breaking free from a Possessed Chain now reveals the Survivor’s aura for 8 seconds—a more utility-focused design.
Singularity – Soma Family Photo
Slipstreaming now applies a longer Hindered effect but no longer inflicts Deep Wound on injured targets.
This removes abusive interactions that bypassed Endurance after unhooks.
Survivor Perk & Item Changes
Conviction
Now specifically requires healing another Survivor to activate, closing an unintended synergy with Plot Twist.
Tenacity
- Crawling recovery ability restored
- Haste significantly increased, making slugging less effective
Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringe (formerly Anti-Exhaustion Syringe)
- Heal-over-time removed
- Now cleanses Exhaustion instantly
- Consumes the med-kit upon activation
Styptic Agent
- Endurance effect removed
- No longer consumes the med-kit
- Increases self-heal efficiency instead
These changes shift med-kit add-ons toward utility rather than burst defense.
Killer Score Event Rewards Increased
Several Bloodpoint events have been raised to reward Killers for spreading hooks and maintaining chase pressure:
- Chase Start increased
- Hooking and sacrifices buffed
- First-hook bonuses increased dramatically
These changes encourage more strategic early-game play.
Map & Environment Changes
Pallet Density Rebalance
Several realms—including MacMillan Estate, Asylum, Red Forest, Yamaoka, Haddonfield, and Ormond—have received adjustments to reduce overly safe pallet loops.
Structural spawn logic has also been refined, particularly in Disturbed Ward and Backwater Swamp, to avoid predictable strong setups.
Underground Complex Refresh
- Better flow through large rooms
- More reliable door and path placement
- Additional generator access points
Autohaven Lighting Improvements
This visual pass brightens overly dark areas with updated textures, fog tuning, and enhanced clarity—helping with visibility without sacrificing atmosphere.
UX & Settings Improvements
This patch speeds up entry into the game and organizes the UI more cleanly:
- PC auto-login
- Videos only play once
- Final loading screen removed
- Photo sensitivity notice doubles as the new load screen
- Completely redesigned Settings menu
- Customizable scratchmark color (beta feature)
- Match Details now on its own panel
These changes modernize the user experience and reduce friction.
Widespread Bug Fixes Across Gameplay, Maps, Audio & UI
The patch includes an extensive list of fixes touching almost every area of the game:
Audio Fixes
Footstep inconsistencies, missing SFX during power transitions, and incorrect audio on cosmetics have all been addressed.
Character Fixes
Numerous Killers—including The Knight, The Animatronic, The Skull Merchant, The Artist, The Legion, and others—received targeted fixes for animation errors, power interruptions, and unintended behavior.
Map Fixes
Issues such as clipping, inaccessible generators, misaligned objects, lighting quirks, and out-of-bounds vaulting have been corrected across multiple realms.
Perk Fixes
Several perks now function consistently again, especially those impacted by recent Endurance and Terror Radius interactions.
System & UI Fixes
Crashes, softlocks, menu delays, and incorrect reward displays have been resolved.
PTB Reversions
Some test-build changes did not ship to live:
- Anti-Facecamp detection radius reverted to 16 meters
- Tunneling and slugging mitigations reverted
- Several hook-related perk adjustments rolled back
- Cenobite Endurance interaction reverted
- Minor visual adjustments to Autohaven retained
These reversions prevent unbalanced interactions while allowing future tuning.
