A Haunting Halloween Tradition Returns

The Trick or Treat event has been a recurring highlight in Dreamlight Valley since 2022, transforming the Plaza and surrounding biomes into a pumpkin-filled wonderland. For 2025, the event expands with more daily activities, new craftables, and the introduction of the Haunted Well, a mysterious new mini-quest that blends exploration with puzzle solving.

Gamers can expect the familiar candy-themed gameplay from past years but with refreshed mechanics and timing adjustments to keep the hunt exciting throughout the event period.

How to Participate: Collect Candy Bowls Across the Valley

Players can start by searching for Candy Bowls scattered throughout the Valley. These bowls come in three colors — Red, Purple, and Green — and each one provides two pieces of candy when collected.

Here’s how candy spawns this year:

  • October 15–30: Two bowls of each color appear every 24 hours.
  • October 31: Two bowls of each color spawn every hour.
  • A maximum of five bowls per color can exist in the Valley at a time.

Candies can be eaten or gifted to fulfill special Event Duties, helping you unlock seasonal rewards and achievements.

The New Haunted Well Quest

A major addition for 2025 is the Haunted Well, which introduces a short but intriguing side puzzle. Players will notice an inconspicuous chest in the Plaza—interacting with it triggers the questline that leads to a chilling discovery in the Forest of Valor.

To access the Haunted Well:

  • Ensure the Forest of Valor is unlocked.
  • Collect and use the puzzling memory orb tied to the chest.
  • Complete the challenge to reveal the haunted reward.

Finishing this spooky mini-quest grants one of the event’s exclusive rewards—the Haunted Well item, a new piece of haunted décor for your village.

Trick or Treat 2025 Rewards List

Gameloft has confirmed both returning and new rewards for this year’s celebration. Completing Event Duties tied to candy collection, gifting, crafting, and dressing up will unlock these themed items:

Craftables: Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl

Crafting it requires:

  • Clay (x5)
  • Green Candy (x2)
  • Purple Candy (x2)
  • Red Candy (x2)

The completed bowl can be displayed in your home or village to complete the holiday theme.

Halloween Day Bonuses – October 31

On Halloween itself, the Valley becomes especially lively:

  • All Villagers will have Red, Green, and Purple Candy as their Favorite Things of the Day.
  • Candy Bowls will respawn multiple times per day, instead of once daily.
  • This makes October 31 the perfect day to finish any incomplete event duties or farm extra candy for crafting and gifting.

Additional Event Tasks and Achievements

Players can also take part in Village Tasks tied to the event under the Dreamlight Menu. These include:

  • Trick or Treat: Give 10 Villagers candy to earn the Mickey Mouse Pumpkin.
  • A 3-Course Halloween Meal!: Eat all three candy colors to unlock the Green Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty.
  • Villainy Wears Many Masks: Equip a mask to earn the Purple Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty.
  • Stockpiling Pumpkins: Harvest 100 pumpkins to claim the Pumpkin Stack.

These activities combine exploration, social gifting, and farming, ensuring that all playstyles can enjoy the event.
