This remake does not use the HD-2D style seen in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D or the upcoming Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D. Instead, it embraces a fully 3D design, closer to the original PlayStation version. The modern visuals bring new detail to the game’s large world while keeping its core identity intact.

Dragon Quest 7: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is famous for its length. A full playthrough often takes over 100 hours. Players begin in Estard and set out on a time-traveling quest to restore lost continents. With so many regions to explore and stories to uncover, this entry stands as one of the franchise’s most ambitious.

Dual Launch on Switch and Switch 2

Square Enix confirmed the game for both Switch platforms, giving current owners and future Switch 2 players access at launch. Pre-orders open today on the Nintendo eShop, making it easy for fans to secure their copy.
