Elden Ring Nightreign is about to expand again, and players won’t have to wait long before entering The Forsaken Hollows, a DLC that adds new Nightfarers, new bosses, and an entirely new Shifting Earth region. FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have now confirmed exactly when every platform and every region can access the expansion, giving players a clear picture of when they can dive in.

Whether you play on PC or console, release timing will differ slightly—so knowing your region’s exact unlock window is crucial if you want to begin the expedition the moment it launches.
Global Release Overview
The Forsaken Hollows launches at one unified global time, but because of time zone differences, every region sees it on a different clock time. Steam players receive the update earlier in the day compared to console players in several regions.
We’ve added a global countdown timer that automatically adjusts to your local time. You can also use the dropdown to check the exact unlock clock time for other major regions like the US, Europe, Japan, and Australia.
Console Release Times (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One)
Players on consoles will receive the DLC closer to midnight in most regions.
- Los Angeles / West Coast US (PST) – December 3, 9 PM
- East Coast US (EST) – December 4, 12 AM
- Brazil (BRT) – December 4, 2 AM
- United Kingdom (GMT) – December 4, 12 AM
- Western Europe (CET) – December 4, 12 AM
- Japan (JST) – December 4, 12 AM
- Australia East (AEDT) – December 4, 12 AM
While most regions hit midnight exactly, North and South America see a staggered rollout several hours earlier.
PC Release Times (Steam / Windows)
PC users start earlier than console players in multiple regions. Steam unlocks region-wide at the following times:
- Los Angeles / West Coast US (PST) – December 3, 3 PM
- East Coast US (EST) – December 3, 6 PM
- Brazil (BRT) – December 3, 8 PM
- United Kingdom (GMT) – December 3, 11 PM
- Western Europe (CET) – December 4, 12 AM
- Japan (JST) – December 4, 8 AM
- Australia East (AEDT) – December 4, 10 AM
Steam does not support preloading for this DLC, meaning downloads begin exactly at your regional unlock time.
Minimum Requirements to Access the DLC
Before entering The Forsaken Hollows, players must reach two important milestones:
1. Unlocking Scholar & Undertaker
You must defeat Tricephalos—a boss featuring the Nightlord Gladius, Beast of Night. Once the expedition is complete, visit the Iron Menial at the Roundtable Hold to trigger a message from the Small Jar Merchant.
2. Unlocking the New Boss “Balancers”
To face the Balancers, players must:
- Defeat Tricephalos and one additional Nightlord
- Unlock the Scholar and Undertaker Nightfarers
- Return to the Small Jar Merchant, where a new chapel opens behind their location
From here, players can enter the Shifting Earth event “The Great Hollows”, which leads directly into the new boss expedition.
