Pokemon Pokopia introduces many abilities that help players explore the world faster and complete quests more easily. One of the most useful traversal abilities is Rollout, which allows your character to transform into Graveler and move quickly across the map.
However, many players struggle to unlock this ability because Graveler does not appear automatically. You must progress through the Rocky Ridges storyline and complete a small quest before Graveler teaches you Rollout.

Where to Find Graveler in Pokemon Pokopia
Graveler appears after you create a Mossy Boulder Habitat in the Rocky Ridges region.
However, the game does not allow you to learn Rollout immediately. The quest becomes available only after progressing through the Rocky Ridges storyline and completing several objectives.
Follow these steps to trigger the Graveler event.
1. Progress Through the Rocky Ridges Questline
First, advance through the main quest in Rocky Ridges until you complete the mission involving the Pokémon trapped in a barrel.
After rescuing that Pokémon, continue the quest until Professor Tangrowth says he needs time to think.
At this point, you should speak with Machoke, who will give you a small request.
2. Complete Machoke’s Fence Task
Machoke asks you to cut down a fence nearby.
Use the Cut ability to remove the fence and then return to Machoke. After finishing the task, Machoke starts looking for Graveler.
You should see a speech bubble above Machoke saying:
“I gotta find ’em…”
This message confirms that the Graveler quest is now active.
3. Build the Mossy Boulder Habitat
Next, you must create the environment where Graveler will spawn.
To do this:
- Find a large mossy boulder
- Use Leafage to generate moss
- Place the boulder in a suitable cave area
A reliable location exists near the hot springs at the southwestern entrance to the Rocky Ridges mines.
Before using Leafage, eat a Salad so the ability creates moss correctly. Once the habitat appears, Graveler will spawn there.
How to Unlock the Rollout Ability
After Graveler appears in the Mossy Boulder Habitat, simply talk to Graveler. The Pokémon will then teach you the Rollout ability.
Rollout allows your character to:
- Transform into a Graveler-style form
- Roll quickly across terrain
- Smash destructible blocks while moving
After unlocking the ability, return to Machoke to complete the quest.
How to Use Rollout in Pokemon Pokopia
Using Rollout is simple once you unlock it.

- Open the ability wheel
- Select Rollout
- Press the ZR button to transform

While rolling, you can also hold ZR to break blocks and objects in your path.
