Supergiant Games has wasted no time fine-tuning Hades 2 following its high-profile launch. Just days after release, the studio rolled out the game’s first post-launch patch, addressing a mix of bugs, achievement issues, and even a few frustrating encounters. While not as massive as the pre-launch update, this hotfix shows that Supergiant remains committed to refining every corner of its roguelike sequel.

Like the first Hades, the sequel is built on iterative development and player feedback. Even with Early Access behind it, Hades 2 continues to evolve. The first hotfix may not add sweeping new features, but it smooths out several sticking points that were impacting progression, achievements, and boss fights. For players just starting their journey with Princess Melinoë, the improvements mean fewer roadblocks and a better-paced experience.
Phantom Mini-Boss Adjustment
One of the most talked-about tweaks involves the Phantom mini-boss in the Fields of Mourning. Players quickly found this fight overwhelming: the Phantom could teleport across the battlefield, unleash punishing ranged attacks, and even drain health from summoned allies.
Supergiant clarified this wasn’t intentional—the draining mechanic was a bug. With the hotfix applied, the Phantom can no longer sap the life of raised servants, making the encounter tough but no longer unfair.
