The plant grows only in a specific biome and usually in small quantities, which makes knowing its exact locations essential before you set out.
Gentian is a bright yellow-flowered herb used in several high-value recipes. You can consume it directly for healing, but most players save it for crafting:
- Superior Health Potion
- Superior Mana Potion
- Wound Ointment
- Yellow Glow Soup
- Chain Heal II (via seedlings)

Where Gentian Spawns in Enshrouded
Gentian is found almost exclusively in the Albaneve Summits, one of the higher-altitude regions in Embervale. This area becomes easier to reach once you activate the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire, which acts as a fast-travel point.
Gentian typically grows:
1. East of the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire
Follow the uphill path directly east from the tower. You’ll spot Gentian on the cliffside to the right as you ascend.
This is one of the richest Gentian routes, producing multiple plants in one run.
2. Southeast Albaneve Summits – Near the Nomad Highlands Border
Travel toward the small watchtower overlooking the Shrouded valley between the Summits and the Nomad Highlands.
Gentian grows along the road just north of the tower. Expect 3–4 plants here—fewer than the spire path, but worth checking during a loop.
3. Near Balefire Garrison “Rimerock”
Gentian appears west of the garrison, though the density is low.
Your best chance in this area is near the Flame Shrine southeast of the garrison, where a few scattered plants can be picked.
Gentian appears as a leafy green herb with thin stems and bright yellow flowers, making it easier to spot against the pale terrain of the Summits.
How to Farm Gentian Efficiently
For long-term crafting, you shouldn’t rely on wild foraging alone. Once you find your first few plants, convert them into seedlings so you can grow your own sustainable supply.
1. Turn Gentian Into Seedlings
At a Seedbed, craft Gentian Seedlings using:
- 1 Gentian
- 1 Water
- 1 Fertilised Farm Soil
Each recipe produces five Gentian Seedlings, giving you far more than you would gather in the wild.
2. Choose the Right Soil
Gentian grows best in:
- Fertilised Farm Soil
- Springlands Dirt
- Flower Soil
It grows slower in:
- Veilwater Basin Dirt
- Nomad Highlands Dirt
- Revelwood Dirt
If the placement preview turns red, the soil is unsuitable. A green outline means the seedling can grow there.
3. Recommended Farming Spot
A reliable location is the arid, reddish-brown soil south of Umber Hollow. This area supports fast growth and is wide enough to build a large herbal farm.
Gentian can be harvested only once. To keep your production going, convert part of every harvest back into seedlings.

To maintain a large supply for potions and Flame Altar upgrades, here’s the recommended routine:
- Start at the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire.
- Run the east-path cliffside route.
- Loop southeast to the Nomad Highlands border.
- Check the area near Balefire Garrison if needed.
- Return home and convert at least half your harvest into seedlings.
- Expand your Gentian farm until you produce more than you consume.
