How to Unlock the Lost Within Quest
The quest is tied to the Fall of the Mithra quest chain, which becomes available once you’ve purchased the Lost Harvest DLC (or Season Pass).
- Complete prerequisites – You’ll first need to finish the Moving On mission and the Search and Retrieval contract (where you collect four Kirab Tags).
- Meet Chief Hanso – After progressing the chain, Hanso will give you the Lost Within contract, tasking you with rescuing three crew members trapped inside the Mithra wreckage.
- Locate the Mithra shipwreck – The wreck can be found northwest of Griffin’s Reach Tradepost, split into two large sections. Look for the entrance hatch on the roof of the northern section.
Note: The interior has radiation. While it’s not lethal, your health will slowly drain. Carry Agave Seeds, Iodine Tablets, or a Radiation Suit to be safe.
Step 1 – Entering the Mithra
- Use the roof hatch marked by a glowing green circle.
- This is an instanced zone, meaning you’ll have time without interference.
- Inside, you’ll start in a hallway leading to a large central chamber.
Step 2 – Finding the First Survivor
- Go straight across the main room.
- At the far side, you’ll see a nook with crates.
- The first survivor will be lying next to a crate with a Green ID Band beside him.
- Talk to him, then pick up the Green ID Band to progress.
Bug Warning: If the NPC doesn’t appear, exit the instance completely, fly a short distance away (Hagga Basin works well), and re-enter.
Step 3 – Finding the Second Survivor
- Return to the main room. Look upward to the walkway above the doorway you entered through.
- There’s a green Pentashield door requiring the Green ID Band you just collected.
- Enter this room and head to the back corner.
- The second survivor is here, next to the Yellow ID Band.
If the NPC is missing, use the same reset method as before.
Step 4 – Finding the Third Survivor
- Head back toward the first survivor’s location.
- Behind him, there’s a hallway leading to a yellow Pentashield door.
- Use the Yellow ID Band to pass through.
- The third survivor is lying on a crate at the far end of this room.
Again, reset the instance if he doesn’t spawn.
Step 5 – Completing the Quest
- Once all three survivors have been found and spoken to, exit the Mithra through the roof hatch.
- Return to Chief Hanso at the survivor camp to finish the contract.
