Capcom has dropped Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds, and it’s a big one. The free update, which went live on June 30, 2025, adds new monsters, fresh customization options, quality-of-life improvements, and fixes aimed at smoothing out the game’s rough edges. Here’s everything hunters need to know about what’s new.
Lagiacrus and Seregios Return for New Hunts
Lagiacrus is back in Monster Hunter Wilds, making its first appearance since Monster Hunter Generations. This electric leviathan can blast currents of lightning through its surroundings, making fights especially tense. While full underwater battles haven’t fully returned, parts of the Lagiacrus fight do involve brief underwater phases, where hunters can’t freely use all their weapons like on land. It’s a twist that keeps the battle fresh while avoiding the technical headaches that came with full underwater combat in past games.
To hunt Lagiacrus, players need to hit Hunter Rank 31 and clear both the “A World Turned Upside Down” main mission and the “Forest Doshaguma” side mission.
Meanwhile, Seregios swoops back into the series from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Known for firing razor-sharp scales that cause bleeding, this wyvern keeps hunters constantly on the move. Like Lagiacrus, Seregios unlocks at Hunter Rank 31. For those looking for a real challenge, both monsters also show up as powerful 8★ Tempered versions at Hunter Rank 41 and above, with higher health and damage.

Arch-Tempered Uth Duna Joins the Fight in July
Another big addition is Arch-Tempered Uth Duna, set to arrive on July 30 as part of an event quest running until August 20. This marks only the second arch-tempered monster in Wilds, bringing tougher fights and new armor for hunters to craft.
Layered Weapons Bring Style to Your Loadout
A long-requested feature, Layered Weapons, finally makes its debut in TU2. This lets hunters change how their weapons look without affecting stats, similar to how Layered Armor works for gear appearances. To use a weapon’s look as a layered skin, players must first craft its final upgrade.
For example, Artian weapons must be fully upgraded to Rarity 8 before being used as layered appearances. Palicos aren’t left out either—they can also get layered weapons crafted from high-rank gear.

New Gear and Skills to Boost Your Build
TU2 introduces new armor sets linked to the returning monsters, along with unique set bonuses:
- Seregios’s Tenacity (Razor’s Edge):
- Two-piece bonus extends the duration of Adrenaline Rush.
- Four-piece bonus boosts attack even more if triggered while active.
- Leviathan’s Fury (Azure Bolt):
- Two-piece bonus raises affinity and adds extra thunder damage.
- Four-piece bonus further boosts thunder damage and lengthens the increased affinity period.
Hunters can also try out new skills like:
- Bladescale Honing: Boosts sharpness after dodging attacks.
- Bladescale Loading: Reloads ammo or applies coatings after dodging.
- Evading Reload: Automatically reloads ammo after a dodge.
- Convert Thunder Resistance: Turns thunder resistance into stronger elemental attacks.

Summer Events and Special Collabs
Festival of Accord: Flamefete
TU2 sets up Monster Hunter Wilds for a lively summer season. From July 23 to August 6, the Festival of Accord: Flamefete takes over the game with special event quests and new layered armor rewards, including the Pinion Necklace and Felyne Bell Collar.
Fender Collaboration
A fun crossover with Fender Guitars lets hunters earn a unique gesture featuring the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster guitar by completing a special event quest. It’s a playful nod to the brand’s iconic instruments.
Cosmetic DLC Pack 2
Alongside free content, Cosmetic DLC Pack 2 drops with:
- A new layered armor set for hunters (five pieces)
- Six pendants in new color variations
- Two gesture sets
- Two new hairstyles
- Two makeup/face paint options
- One sticker set
Players who bought the Premium Deluxe Edition or the Cosmetic DLC Pass get this DLC automatically.
Big Quality-of-Life Improvements
Capcom packed TU2 with updates that make Wilds more user-friendly:
- Item Boxes Everywhere: Item boxes are now outside tents in base camps and the Grand Hub. Pop-up Camps also get outdoor boxes, saving players from long walks back to camp.
- Better Loadouts: Activating a loadout now auto-restocks ammo. There’s also a new “Take All” button in Nata’s Material Retrieval and a “Remove All Decorations” option for quicker equipment management.
- Skill Info Shortcut: Players can check skill details faster with a single button press.
- New Photo Mode Tools: TU2 adds an “Effects” tab for adjusting brightness and filters and a toggle to hide characters like the Handler, Palico, and Seikret in photos.
- Handler Options: After the Lagiacrus mission, hunters can swap field handlers between Eric and Alma.
- New Support Hunter: TU2 introduces Mina, a Sword & Shield user who can join your team for extra help.
- Challenge Quest Overhaul: The Mark of Bravery pendant now requires a Rank B finish in Challenge Quests rather than being given for participation. Capcom has also started cracking down on suspicious leaderboard times to keep competition fair.

Technical Fixes for a Smoother Experience
Capcom is also working to fix technical hiccups, especially on PC. TU2 adds support for DLSS 4 and FSR 4 for better graphics upscaling. It also tackles high CPU usage during shader compilation and corrects the way VRAM usage is displayed in settings.
Other improvements include:
- Faster Seikret Mount: Seikret now responds quicker, making it easier to ride around maps.
- Better Map Access: TU2 fixes an issue where chat messages blocked map access. Skipping important chat no longer shares the same button as opening the map.
What’s Next for Monster Hunter Wilds?
While Monster Hunter Wilds hit a few bumps after launch—including a sharp drop in its Steam player base—TU2 shows Capcom is determined to keep the game growing. Looking ahead, Title Update 3 is coming in late September, with more monsters, harder quests, and Talisman crafting, giving hunters even more ways to fine-tune their builds.
For now, Title Update 2 is live and free for all players—and it might just be the push Monster Hunter Wilds needs to keep hunters returning to the Forbidden Lands.
