Moving around the City in NBA 2K26 can feel slow, especially when you’re bouncing between MyCareer locations, Pro-Am courts, or shops. While everyone starts out with a skateboard, there’s actually a faster option you can unlock without spending VC: a free BMX bike. This guide breaks down exactly how to earn it, what challenges you’ll need to complete, and how to equip it once it’s unlocked.

Why Unlock the Free BMX?
The City in NBA 2K26 is larger than ever, and running from one end to another wastes valuable time. The skateboard is helpful, but the BMX slime bike is noticeably quicker and easier to handle. Whether you’re headed to Rec games, Pro-Am, or simply exploring, the BMX is the best way to cut down travel time—without spending extra VC on transportation.

How to Unlock the Free Bike
To earn the BMX, you’ll need to complete all 15 City Exploration Starter Challenges. These challenges are part of the “Starter Challenges” menu under City Challenges. Each task introduces you to important areas and features of the City.
Here’s the full list you’ll need to clear:
- Watch a HoloHelp kiosk video – Interact with a kiosk marked with an “i” symbol.
- Watch 5 HoloHelp kiosk videos – Repeat with five different kiosks across the City.
- Enter Street Kings – Found on the east side of the City.
- Enter the Park – The central, round structure in the City.
- Enter Triple Threat Park – Located on the path north toward the Gatorade facility.
- Enter the Rec – Found in the southern shopping district.
- Enter the Theater – Positioned across from Street Kings.
- Enter Starting 5 – Near the Rec and Event Center.
- Enter Proving Grounds – Located left of the Rec, close to the NBA arena.
- Enter Pro-Am – Next to the Theater; you’ll need to create a custom team to enter.
- Enter Ante-Up – Found opposite Starting 5, just past MyCourt.
- Visit the Geo Rank Leaderboard – Between Proving Grounds and Pro-Am near the NBA arena.
- Use a 2KTV kiosk – Scattered throughout the City; one is near Triple Threat Park.
- Visit the Crews menu – Open the pause menu and select the Crews tab.
- Use a Squad Finder kiosk – Located in areas like MyCourt or the Theater.
Once every challenge is marked complete, the BMX slime bike will automatically unlock in your inventory.
How to Equip and Use the Bike
After unlocking the BMX, you’ll need to assign it to your Equipment Wheel:
- Open the pause menu and navigate to MyPLAYER.
- Select Equipment.
- Choose an empty slot on the Equipment Wheel.
- Assign the BMX bike to that slot.
To equip it during gameplay:
- Hold L1 (PlayStation) / LB (Xbox) to bring up the Equipment Wheel.
- Use the right stick to highlight the BMX.
- Release the button, and your player will hop on the bike.
From here, you’re free to cruise around the City much faster than on foot or skateboard.
Quick Tips: NBA 2K26 Free Bike
- Pro-Am entry is the only part that requires setup—make a quick team if you don’t plan to play regularly.
- HoloHelp kiosks and 2KTV kiosks don’t require watching full videos; interacting is enough.
- Keep the bike assigned on your wheel so you can swap quickly whenever you spawn in the City.
