Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Wish Board system brings a variety of side quests, from simple gathering tasks to intense hunts. Among them, the Cloaks of the Choir stands out as a Songclave quest that challenges you to collect rare items while navigating the dangers of the Choral Chambers. This guide breaks down everything you need to know, including how to start the quest, where to farm Choir Cloaks, and what rewards await you.
How to Unlock the Choir Quest
Before the quest appears, you must gain access to Songclave, the village tied to the Choral Chambers. To do this, defeat the Cogwork Dancers boss and ring the Grand Bell located in the upper-right section of the Choral Chambers. Once Songclave is unlocked, its Wish Wall becomes available.
- Complete the Fine Pins Quest – First, accept and finish the Fine Pins wish from the Songclave Wish Wall. This involves collecting pins from Reed and Choristor enemies.
- Return to the Wish Wall – After turning in the Fine Pins, leave and re-enter Songclave. A new Wish will be posted, unlocking the Cloaks of the Choir quest.
The Wish requires you to collect 15 Choir Cloaks from enemies within the Choral Chambers. These items are not guaranteed drops, so patience and farming strategy are key.
Which Enemies Drop Choir Cloaks
Only specific enemies in the Citadel wear the coveted Choir Cloaks. Look out for:
- Choir Flyer – airborne enemies that patrol chandeliers and open spaces.
- Choir Pouncer – fast attackers that leap at Hornet.
- Choir Hornhead – grounded foes with heavier armor and close-range strikes.
Be careful not to confuse them with white-hooded enemies like Reeds and Choristors, as those drop Fine Pins instead.
Best Farming Locations
While you’ll find Choir enemies throughout the Choral Chambers, one location is particularly efficient:
- The tall chamber to the left of the Whiteward entrance (beneath the dining hall).
- Why it’s the best spot: All three Choir enemies spawn here—Flyers and Pouncers around the chandeliers, with a Hornhead below.
- Bench advantage: There’s a bench nearby in the upper-right corner, making it easy to reset spawns by resting.
Farming Tips
- Cycle the room: Defeat enemies, rest at the bench, and repeat until you gather enough drops.
- Avoid spike kills: Quest items, including Choir Cloaks, will be destroyed if they fall onto damaging ground. Try to lure enemies away from hazards.
- Mix up your routes: If farming becomes tedious, clear this room until you have 12–13 cloaks, then travel back through the left side of the Choral Chambers. You’ll likely encounter enough Choir enemies on the way to finish the quest.
Rewards for Completing the Quest
Once you’ve collected all 15 Choir Cloaks, return to the Songclave Wish Wall to complete the wish. Your reward is a Heavy Rosary Necklace, valued at 220 Rosaries.
On top of this, you’ll accumulate additional Rosaries from defeating Choir enemies during the farming process—making this quest a solid source of both items and currency.
