Tamagotchi Plaza is bringing back all the fun of running tiny virtual shops. It’s the latest game in the franchise, mixing cute characters with simple business management. Players arrive in Tamahiko Town and take on the job of helping local shops thrive, all while working toward making the town the best place to host the big Tamagotchi Fest.

How Tamagotchi Plaza Works
Tamagotchi Plaza follows the same style as the older Corner Shop games. Players become the chairperson of Tamahiko Town’s festival committee, with a Tamagotchi partner helping out along the way. Each shop in town comes with its own little minigame. Some are about cooking, others involve creating art or helping customers with quirky needs.
The better players perform in each shop, the more the town’s reputation grows. Raising the town’s reputation helps unlock new content and brings the town closer to hosting the Tamagotchi Fest. On top of running shops, players can walk around town, chat with characters, clean up the plaza, and decorate different spots.
While there are plenty of shops to explore from the start, there are also hidden and upgraded shops that open up as players progress.
Shops Available in the Base Game (Nintendo Switch)
Players can unlock 10 base shops early in the game, while 2 additional “collab” shops become available after meeting upgrade requirements.

Currently, 2 base shops remain unplayable, appearing as empty shop slots next to the Bicycle Shop and Tailor Shop. These may unlock with future updates or the game’s global release.
Afternoon Pool
Milktchi and Bubbletchi run this shop. Players decorate and set up pool areas based on what customers want, choosing floats, lights, and decorations.
Afternoon Tea Shop
Milktchi’s shop is all about fancy tea parties. Players arrange tables, pick snacks, and choose decorations to match a guest’s taste.
Bicycle Shop
Unimarutchi manages this shop. Players repair bikes and customize colors, wheels, and parts to fit what each customer wants.
Dentist
Mametchi’s dental clinic has players cleaning teeth, filling cavities, and chasing away pesky sugar bugs. This shop even offers local multiplayer so friends can help out.
Eyewear Shop
Memetchi’s eyewear shop tests customers’ vision, then designs frames and lenses that fit both style and function.
Galette Shop
In Kuchipatchi’s shop, players fold, fill, and cook savory galettes, making sure every order is just right.
Glasses Galette Shop
This is a mix between the Galette and Eyewear shops, run by Kuchipatchi and Memetchi. Here, players make galettes shaped like stylish glasses.
Manga Shop
Mimitchi’s shop lets players design two-panel manga strips. Customers give ideas for characters and stories, and players pick the right scenes and props.
Night Pool Shop
Bubbletchi’s night pool party includes handing out drinks, pool floats, and party gear. Bubbletchi DJs from a float while players keep guests happy.
Personal Training Gym
Shykutchi’s gym has players guiding customers through workouts, managing timing and keeping guests motivated.
Rap Battle Shop
Hypertchi’s shop features rhythm games where Tamagotchis face off in rap battles. Players tap along to the beat to wow the crowd.
Tailor Shop
Neliatchi’s tailor shop is all about sewing custom clothes. Players cut patterns, choose fabrics, and add fancy decorations based on customers’ orders.
Shops Only on Nintendo Switch 2
Players who upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 get three extra shops. These make use of the new console’s motion controls:
Shop Name | Manager(s) | What You Do |
---|---|---|
Shuriken Shop | Gozarutchi | Throw ninja stars at moving targets |
Sushi Shop | Gozarutchi | Make sushi and serve it quickly to customers |
Sushi Shuriken Shop | Gozarutchi | Toss sushi into customers’ mouths using motion controls |
Shuriken Shop
In Gozarutchi’s Shuriken Shop, players throw ninja stars at targets using motion controls. Swiping the controller just right helps hit moving targets for high scores.
Sushi Shop
Also run by Gozarutchi, the Sushi Shop has players crafting sushi and delivering plates quickly. The Joy-Con 2’s pointer helps players aim and serve each customer.
Sushi Shuriken Shop
This shop mixes ninja action with sushi-making. Players prepare sushi and fling pieces into customers’ mouths as they glide by on conveyor belts.
How to Unlock Shops in Tamahiko Town
At first, players unlock 10 base shops just by exploring Tamahiko Town after the opening scenes. However, there’s more to discover.
On the Switch 2 version, some shops stay locked until players finish the 10 main minigames. After that, a cutscene hints at new shops hidden in an alley between the player’s house and the Personal Training Gym. Players will find Prince Tamahiko and Princess Tamako there, waiting to unlock new businesses.
There are also “collab” shops—special stores created by merging two existing shops. For example:
- Afternoon Tea Shop + Night Pool Shop = Afternoon Pool
- Galette Shop + Eyewear Shop = Glasses Galette Shop
- Shuriken Shop + Sushi Shop = Sushi Shuriken Shop
To unlock these collab shops, players need to get high rankings in the original shops. The exact way to merge the Sushi and Shuriken shops is still a bit of a mystery.
How Shop Upgrades Work
Shops in Tamagotchi Plaza can level up if players get high scores in the minigames. Each shop has three levels. To upgrade, players need perfect scores in a set number of games. Once enough points are earned, Prince Tamahiko gives a special task. Completing it lets players pay Gotchi coins for the upgrade.
Here’s what’s needed for each level:
- Level 1: 8 perfect scores, 150 Gotchi
- Level 2: 20 perfect scores, 450 Gotchi
- Level 3: 30 perfect scores, 2,200 Gotchi
Upgrades change how a shop looks, add new challenges, and bring in customers with trickier requests.
Life in Tamahiko Town
Tamagotchi Plaza offers plenty to do outside the shops. Players can:
- Chat with characters
- Clean up litter in the plaza
- Decorate the committee room and town square
The game has fun features like the Tama Social Network, where Tamagotchis post updates and news. Players can also check the Guest List, showing customer profiles and memories unlocked through good service. Talking to Picochutchi can help figure out which shop needs attention next.
There’s also a link with Tamagotchi Uni devices. Players can connect the game and unlock special scenes, items, or Gotchi coins through the Plaza Link feature.
Tamagotchi Plaza blends old-school charm with new ideas, especially on the Switch 2. Whether it’s making galettes or throwing ninja stars, there’s always something quirky to try. Fans of Tamagotchi and new players alike will find plenty of cute and satisfying fun waiting in Tamahiko Town.
