Amazon India launched its own air cargo service, Amazon Air, in Hyderabad, becoming the first e-commerce company in India to do so.
Amazon Air, also known as Amazon Prime Air, is used to transport packages and goods to Amazon fulfilment centres and customers.
It was first launched in 2016 in the United States.
In India, Amazon Air will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which will be operated by Quikjet Cargo Airlines.
Amazon is the 1st e-commerce company in India to launch a dedicated air cargo network.
Amazon Air is used to ship customer packages to key Indian cities (regional air hubs), including Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
Main goal of Amazon Prime Air is to increase speed and efficiency of package delivery for Amazon customers.
