TECH NEWS

A new era in Indian AI content has begun: Hanooman AI, a generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) platform, has been launched in India by 3AI Holding Limited and SML India.

Hanooman AI can understand and respond in 98 languages, including 12 Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Hanooman is available for download in India via the web and through a mobile app for Android users. An iOS version is coming soon.

Similar to ChatGPT 3.5 (free version), it also doesn’t have access to real-time information or ability to browse the internet. Its knowledge cutoff date is April 10, 2022.

Interestingly, at its launch, it was available in 12 Indian languages. We tested some of their responses and they turned out to be decent.

The platform is currently available for free use and is expected to launch its premium subscription plan later in 2024.

Vishnu Vardhan, the co-founder, says they can impact the lives of 200 million users within the first year alone, catering to the 80% of Indians who do not understand English.

Arjun Prasad, the Managing Director of 3AI Holding, believes Hanooman will ensure that AI is not just a privilege for a few but a tool accessible to every Indian.

As part of the launch, SML India announced its partnership with leading technology stalwarts and innovators like HP, NASSCOM, and Yotta.

With the launch of Hanooman, India is poised to become a global leader in the field of AI, leveraging its rich linguistic diversity.
