Italy Bans ChatGPT Over data privacy and the regulation of AI technology, first country to ban AI Chatbot "ChatGPT"

Italy ban ChatGPT over concerns raised over data privacy and the regulation of AI technology, making it the first country to ban the very popular AI chatbot "ChatGPT".

Since its launch in November 2022, the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT,  developed by OpenAI, has been increasingly popular worldwide.

ChatGPT is gaining popularity due to its advanced language processing, You ask anything it delivers within seconds like writing poetry, ideas for content, programming coding and more...

It is the first time that action has been taken against the use of an AI chatbot by a country over privacy concerns.

Italy accused OpenAI of unlawfully collecting personal data from users and of not having adequate age-verification measures in place to prevent minors from being exposed to illicit material.

The ban was imposed after a data breach was reported on March 20, which was acknowledged by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
