Microsoft has started testing a new Postgame Recaps feature for PC gamers using the Xbox app on Windows. The update is now live for Xbox Insiders enrolled in the PC Gaming Preview and focuses on summarizing what players achieved after each gaming session.

Postgame Recaps summarize your gaming session
After you exit a game, the Xbox PC app can now show a short recap highlighting key moments from that session. These recaps include captured screenshots or videos, unlocked achievements, and notable in-game events. The goal is to give players a quick overview without interrupting gameplay.
Microsoft says the feature does not appear after every session. Recaps show up mainly when players unlock an achievement, take a capture using Game Bar, or launch a game for the first time. Occasionally, the app may also suggest other games based on your activity.
Xbox app runs quietly in the background
To support Postgame Recaps, the Xbox PC app may stay active in the system tray while a game is running. Microsoft states that it optimized the app to minimize memory usage and performance impact. Players who disable all recap options will also prevent the app from launching in the system tray during gameplay.
Players control what appears after gameplay
Microsoft gives players full control over the feature. Users can enable or disable individual recap elements by heading to Settings > App > Postgame Recaps inside the Xbox PC app. This lets players tailor what they see—or turn the feature off completely.
Each recap includes a feedback option, allowing players to report what feels useful or unnecessary. Microsoft plans to refine the feature based on Insider responses before considering a wider release.
The Postgame Recaps feature is currently limited to Xbox Insiders on PC, with no confirmed timeline for public rollout .
