Death Stranding 2: On the Beach brings back Sam Bridges for another emotional and high-stakes journey. This time, players travel across the deserts and jungles of Mexico before heading into the rugged terrain of Australia. With new gear, enemies, and challenges, Sam’s mission to reconnect the world is more intense than ever. If you’re tracking your progress or just want to know what’s ahead, here’s a full list of Episodes and Main Orders in the game.

How Death Stranding 2 Is Structured
The game isn’t built like your usual open-world title. Instead of a checklist of locations, it’s organized around Orders, which serve as the game’s core missions. These are grouped into Episodes, which act as story chapters. Completing Main Orders pushes the story forward, while Sub Orders, Standard Orders, and Aid Requests let players explore more of the world and build relationships with other characters.
All Episodes in Death Stranding 2
The main story is divided into 17 Episodes. Some chapters are packed with missions, while others are mostly cinematic. Here’s the full list:

Side Content: Sub Orders, Standard Orders & Aid Requests
Beyond the main story, players can tackle side content to unlock rewards and improve infrastructure.
- Sub Orders are detailed side quests involving characters and sometimes intense combat or delivery challenges.
- Standard Orders are repeatable jobs that give you materials, Likes, or sometimes unique equipment.
- Aid Requests are small but meaningful NPC tasks that don’t always show up on your mission list—like rebuilding roads or returning lost items.
For example, Sub Orders may ask you to recover mementos from BT zones, deliver a dismantled rifle to a Lone Commander, or help an artist rebuild their timefall shelter.
Aid Requests can include fixing monorail parts, bringing back sentimental family relics, or building bridges across dangerous terrain for local porters. Some Standard Orders are time-based or appear in different rotations. You may encounter them in a different order than other players, especially during Early Access.
These activities often help develop the world and let you upgrade your tools or facilities. For example, in Episode 3, you help restore a monorail system and assist local porters under siege.
What Makes These Orders Unique
Not every mission is just about walking from point A to point B. Many Orders bring variety through mechanics like:
- Fragile Cargo: These need to be protected from falls, weather, or enemies.
- Timed Deliveries: Some items (like pizza or yeast) must be delivered fast and upright.
- No Submersion: A few items can’t touch water at all.
- Combat Orders: Some require you to defeat BTs or take down bandit camps.
- Surreal Encounters: Missions in the Strange Realm feature dreamlike environments and rules.
- Hazardous Terrain: You’ll cross snowy peaks or trek through toxic zones.
Each mission adds a twist to keep the experience fresh throughout Sam’s journey.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach blends cinematic storytelling with thoughtful exploration and survival gameplay. With 17 episodes and 49 main orders, it offers a rich, emotional adventure that grows deeper the more you engage with its world.
Whether you’re taking on the next big delivery or just stopping to help a stranded porter, every step you take as Sam carries weight. The journey is long, but it’s one worth walking.
