All Abyss Gear Blueprints in Crimson Desert and Where to Find Them

Crimson Desert’s Abyss Gear system is one of the most rewarding parts of the game, but finding blueprints to craft the gears you actually want takes serious effort. There are 89 craftable Abyss Gear Blueprints in the game, and most of them hide behind Dispatch Missions, faction quests, and boss fights.

This guide covers every blueprint source, what each Dispatch Mission rewards, and which Witch sells what, so you can stop gambling on drops and start building your kit deliberately.

What Are Abyss Gear Blueprints?

Blueprints let you craft Abyss Gears at any Witch’s Altar under the Craft Abyss Gear section. Once you read a blueprint, it stays unlocked permanently, and you can combine two Lvl 1 gears into a Lvl 2, then two Lvl 2 gears into a Lvl 3.

Most blueprints do not drop reliably. Dispatch Mission blueprints carry a 2% drop rate, so save scumming is a legitimate strategy. Make a manual save before a Dispatch Mission completes, and reload if the blueprint you want does not show up.

After a successful Dispatch Mission, check your Private Storage chest in the Howling Hill camp for the blueprint.

How to Get Abyss Gear Blueprints

There are two main sources:

  • Witches sell a handful of basic blueprints directly for silver.
  • Exploration Dispatch Missions at various ruins unlock additional blueprints at a 2% drop rate each run.

For Dispatch Missions that require an Exploration skill, you need a Comrade who has it. Five Comrades carry the Exploration skill: Devan, Falstaff, Joseph, Arnold, and Xavier. You unlock all five through the Howling Hill expansion missions.

All Witch Blueprints in Crimson Desert

Witches are the easiest source of blueprints, covering the core passive stats for your build. Here is what each one sells:

Skill-Modifying Abyss Gears and Which Attacks They Pair With

Skill-modifying Abyss Gears augment a specific attack or skill on your Skill Tree. They do not replace the skill, but add a secondary effect or more damage on top. The tradeoff is an increased resource cost (Stamina or Spirit) every time that skill fires.

You can stack multiple Abyss Gears on the same skill for combined effects, but the resource cost stacks equally fast. Missing your mark with a Spirit-heavy combo becomes very punishing at high stacks.

Elemental Resistance and Status Immunity Blueprints

Elemental effects scale with a threshold system. Hitting Lv 5 Ice Resistance stops the Stamina regen penalty from cold exposure, and reaching Lv 10 completely negates ice effects and prevents freezing. Resistance from armor and Abyss Gears stacks additively.

Bane Abyss Gear Blueprints

Bane gears deal increased damage against specific enemy factions. They only apply to the weapon you socket them into, but even a Lv 1 Bane (+4%) outperforms a Lv 3 Destruction (+3 Attack) in most matchups against that faction.

Greater Abyss Gears

When you fuse two Lv 2 Abyss Gears together, there is a reported 4% chance to produce a Greater variant instead of the standard Lv 3. Greater Abyss Gears deliver a dramatically higher stat boost, but they come with a durability meter and break after sustained use, similar to temporary weapons like the Flame Spear.

Best Passive Abyss Gears for Your Build

For a strong end-game foundation, target these in priority order:

Offensive: Aim for Critical Rate 10 and Attack Speed 10 across your gear slots. Stack Spirit Transference and Composure if you rely on Spirit-heavy skills, since many Skill-modifying Abyss Gears add Spirit cost per use.

Defensive: Aegis (Damage Reduction) takes priority over flat Defense once you use plate armor at higher refinement levels. Flat Defense has diminishing returns against harder content.

Utility: Disarm at Lv 3 (3% on-hit) powers the most popular Icewatch Altar farming method when combined with Shield Bash, stripping weapons from humanoid enemies and farming their gear. Ledgermain is worth keeping in a swap set before any gold-pickpocketing run.

Skill-modifying Abyss Gears work best when you commit to one per Skill rather than stacking two. Double-stacking multiplies resource costs fast, and missing the attack becomes far more costly. Pick the one that matches your build’s purpose: for example, Ator’s Orb is weak for raw DPS but excellent for staggering bosses faster, making it a strong pairing alongside a pure-DPS secondary weapon. FAQs: Crimson Desert Abyss Gear Blueprints

How do you get Abyss Gear Blueprints in Crimson Desert?

You get Abyss Gear Blueprints from two sources: Witches and Exploration Dispatch Missions. Witches sell basic blueprints directly for silver, while Dispatch Missions drop them at a 2% chance per run. After a successful Dispatch Mission, check your Private Storage chest at the Howling Hill camp to collect the blueprint.

Can you craft Abyss Gears without a Blueprint?

No, you need the specific blueprint before you can craft an Abyss Gear at a Witch’s Altar. Once you read a blueprint, it unlocks permanently. You can then craft Lv 1, combine two Lv 1s into Lv 2, and combine two Lv 2s into Lv 3 at any time.

Which Dispatch Mission gives the Dark Crescent Blueprint?

The Dark Crescent blueprint drops from the Kingshield Digsite Exploration Dispatch Mission. You unlock it by completing the Beneath the Dig Site Faction Quest in Demeniss and defeating Kutum. The drop rate is 2%, so save before the mission completes and reload if it does not appear.

What Comrades do you need for Exploration Dispatch Missions?

You need a Comrade with the Exploration skill. Five Comrades carry this skill: Devan, Falstaff, Joseph, Arnold, and Xavier. You unlock all five by completing the Howling Hill expansion missions.

What are Greater Abyss Gears and how do you get them?

Greater Abyss Gears are a rare upgrade that occasionally appears when you fuse two Lv 2 Abyss Gears together. There is roughly a 4% chance to get a Greater variant instead of the standard Lv 3. They offer significantly higher stats, but come with a durability meter and break after extended use.
