Phasmophobia’s first-ever crossover event pairs the ghost hunting game with the world of Alan Wake, and it runs from May 12 to June 2. Unlike past seasonal events like Winter’s Jest, which introduced unique threats like Krampus to familiar maps, this collaboration overhauls four locations with new objectives, new tools, and a lobby puzzle that ties everything together. You have three weeks to collect all 68 Words of Power, solve three Doll Puzzles, and banish shadow figures to unlock every reward. This guide covers every step.

Alan Wake Event Overview
The event adds three main objectives to your investigations, and all three feed into Community Points and Personal Points that unlock cosmetic rewards as you progress.
| Task | Points Earned |
|---|---|
| Identify the ghost correctly | 10 |
| Reveal a Word of Power | 2 each |
| Complete a Doll Puzzle stage | 3 per piece |
| Complete an optional objective | 3 each |
You need at least a x1.00 difficulty multiplier to earn any event points. The maximum points per contract cap at 56. Playing on higher difficulties boosts your multiplier and your point total, so push the difficulty up wherever you can to maximize progress.
Recommended Custom Difficulty Settings
For collecting Words of Power and Dolls without ghost interference, set up a Custom Difficulty with these settings before loading into any event map:
- Starting Sanity: 100
- Sanity Drain Speed: 0%
- Flashlights: On
- Player Speed: 150%
- Friendly Ghost: On
With a Friendly Ghost active, the ghost stays completely passive and skips hunts entirely. You can sprint through maps, follow UV arrows, and grab every Doll without any threat. These settings still allow event point earning as long as the difficulty multiplier stays at x1.00 or above.

All Alan Wake Event Maps
The event redesigns four existing Phasmophobia maps with Alan Wake-themed names, props, and decorations. Each one holds a different number of Words of Power and Dolls.
| Original Map | Event Name | Words of Power | Dolls |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camp Woodwind | Coffee World | 10 | 3 |
| Nell’s Diner | Oh Deer Diner | 20 | 3 |
| Bleasdale Farmhouse | Elderwood Palace Lodge | 20 | 4 |
| Grafton Farmhouse | Cauldron Lake | 18 | 3 |
You need to visit all four maps to collect every cosmetic reward. All 13 Dolls across all four maps are required to complete the full lobby puzzle sequence.
How to Use the Angel Lamp
The Angel Lamp sits on the dashboard by the screens in your van at the start of every contract. Pick it up and carry it into the map alongside your other gear.

Shadow figures appear throughout each event map. When you get close to one, hold the Use button to banish it with the Angel Lamp. Banishing shadow figures generates the most event points per contract, so make them your first priority during each round.
How to Find All Words of Power
Words of Power appear as circular letter formations hidden across each event map. You need a UV Light to see them, because the UV Light reveals hidden yellow arrows on the floor and walls that guide you directly from one Word of Power to the next.
The van provides a Tier 1 UV Light by default. Bring a Tier 3 UV Light if your level allows it. Carry both the UV Light and a flashlight at the same time, one in each hand. Use the flashlight to navigate, and use the UV Light to scan walls and floors for arrows.
When you shine the UV Light on a Word of Power circle, the letters scatter and the game registers it as collected. The yellow arrow pointing to that word also disappears, so you always know which ones you still need. Each map takes roughly three minutes to clear when you follow the arrows correctly.
| Map | Words of Power |
|---|---|
| Coffee World | 10 |
| Oh Deer Diner | 20 |
| Elderwood Palace Lodge | 20 |
| Cauldron Lake | 18 |
| Total | 68 |
Revealing all 68 Words of Power across all four maps unlocks Alan Wake’s suit cosmetic.
All Doll Locations
You need all 13 Dolls from all four maps to complete the lobby puzzle. You do not need to complete a contract to collect Dolls. When you find a Doll, press E to interact with it. It returns to its position, but a scribble sound confirms it was recorded.
Coffee World (Camp Woodwind)
- Bear Doll: Enter Camp Woodwind and turn left toward the blue tent with crates stacked outside. Head to the left back corner of the tent, by the red sleeping bag.
- Jester Doll: From the entrance, go right toward the multicolored tent with the “Fresh Pot Gift Shop” sign. Above the sign are stacked boxes. The doll sits behind them.
- Ballerina Doll: Look for the small orange tent illuminated and surrounded by balloons. Next to it is a green box. The doll sits just behind the boxes beside the tent.
Oh Deer Diner (Nell’s Diner)
- Superhero Doll: Use the front door to enter the dining area. Go to the left side and find the second table with waffles and a slice of pie. The doll sits next to the plates.
- Owl Doll: Go into the kitchen and through the plastic curtain at the back left. This leads to the kitchen storage room. Look at the shelf immediately on the right.
- Father Doll: Find the first door on the right after the manager’s office. Inside the break room, check the table behind the door, next to the Mr. Sprinkle vending machine. The doll sits by the stack of paper.
Elderwood Palace Lodge (Bleasdale Farmhouse)
- Bride Doll: Enter Bleasdale Farmhouse and take the first door on the left into the sitting room. Go to the far right corner and check the small table underneath the plates on the wall.
- Deer Doll: Take the stairs to the first floor and go through the first door on the right into the bedroom. Turn right when you see the mannequin, then open the first door on the right to find a walk-in closet. The doll sits by the brown bag near the mirror.
- Old Man Doll: Leave the bedroom and continue along the corridor. Open the door at the end to enter the office. The doll sits on the desk, next to the typewriter.
- Princess Doll: Leave the office and take the next door on the right. Head up the stairs to the attic. Go to the back of the attic and through the beaded purple and white curtain. Turn right into the small room with plants and an altar. The doll sits next to the burning candles and crystal ball.
Cauldron Lake (Grafton Farmhouse)
- Cat Doll: Enter the farmhouse and go straight to the back to the Dining Room. Look to the left to find the cabinet with vases. The doll sits by the stack of plates.
- Princess Doll: Take the stairs by the door up to the first floor. At the top of the stairs, turn right. Instead of going to the attic, turn right again and head for the gap in the wall on the left into a room filled with dolls. Go diagonally to the far side of the room to find the doll.
- Moose Doll: Take the stairs up to the attic. Go past the table with boxes and head toward the candlestick on the left. The doll sits in front of it.
Lobby Doll Puzzle Solutions
After you collect all 13 Dolls, exit and return to the lobby. Head to the desk in the center. The Dolls appear on the floor near a set of chalk drawings, and a handwritten riddle sits in the middle that tells you which Dolls belong on which symbols.
Three puzzles run in sequence. Completing one updates the riddle and chalk drawings for the next stage. You must complete all three to unlock Saga Anderson’s outfit.

- Place the Moose Doll on the Tree
- Place the Deer Doll on the House
Puzzle 2
