nubia has announced the launch of its latest flagship gaming phones, the Red Magic 8S Pro and Red Magic 8S Pro+ in China. These gaming phones built upon the success of their predecessor, the Red Magic 8 Pro, by incorporating Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chip, an enhanced cooling system, and an eye-catching exterior design

In terms of design, the phone retains the aviation-grade aluminum frame and front glass of its predecessor. However, the back material varies depending on the chosen variant, which also determines the amount of RAM and storage capacity.
Both phones (S-model) were powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset. The Red Magic 8S Pro offers multiple configuration options, starts with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storageof UFS 4.0 storage. But, a Pro+ model is available from 16GB RAM of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
To ensure optimal performance, the Red Magic 8S Pro incorporates an improved ICE 12 cooling system. This system includes a 5W/mK thermal paste and an enhanced air duct utilized by a 20K RPM fan. Notably, all variants of the Red Magic 8S Pro feature RGB lighting on the fan, which was previously exclusive to the premium transparent version.
The camera specs remains unchanged, with a 16MP under-display front-facing camera and a rear camera equipped with the 50MP GN5 sensor (1/1.57″ size).
The Red Magic 8S Pro sports a sizable 6.8″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,116 x 2,480 pixels (20:9 aspect ratio) and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The display boasts a peak brightness of 1,300 nits and supports DC dimming. Gorilla Glass 5 provides protection for the screen.
Powering the Red Magic 8S Pro is a substantial 6,000mAh battery that supports 165W fast charging. Previously exclusive to the Pro+ version of the Red Magic 8, this fast charging technology allows for a rapid charging experience. The new cooling system incorporates a graphene layer beneath the screen to efficiently dissipate heat during charging.

Price and availability
The ZTE nubia Red Magic 8S Pro is now available for pre-order, from 11th of July. The base model, featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, starts at CNY 4,000 ($550/€510/₹45,500).
The Red Magic 8S Pro+ model, which starts with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for CNY 5,500 ($760/€700/₹62,500). The Aurora version of the Pro+ model offers storage options up to 1TB and an industry-first 24GB of RAM, priced at CNY 7,500 ($1,035/€950/₹85,000).
Furthermore, a limited-edition Red Magic 8S Pro+ Bumblebee variant, featuring 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, is available for CNY 6,500 and includes custom yellow-themed accessories.
