UIDAI and ISRO Sign MOU for Technical Collaboration
UIDAI and ISRO MOU for Technical Collaboration Updates: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for technical collaboration was signed between the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the National Remote Sensing Centre, under the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Sri Shailendra Singh, Deputy Director-General, UIDAI and Dr Prakash Chauhan, Director, NRSC signed the Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of the CEO, UIDAI, and other senior executives from both the UIDAI and National Research and Development Corporation (NRSC).
The National Robotics and Space Corporation (NRSC) will construct a Bhuvan-Aadhar webpage that would provide information on and locations of Aadhaar centres across India. In addition, the site gives the ability to search for suitable Aadhaar centres by area depending on the needs of the citizens who use it.
In addition, the NRSC will establish a web-based platform to gather and retain data relevant to current and future enrolling centres in order to enhance citizen-centric services by conducting regular statutory inspections on a regular basis. The quality of the collected data will be reviewed by recognised authorities at the regional level to guarantee that citizens receive exact information about the centres, as well as an online visualisation tool, as a result of the data collection.
A high-quality background of natural colour satellite photos will serve as a backdrop for Bhuvan’s entire geographic information storage, retrieval, analysis, and reporting for Aadhaar centres, allowing for more efficient operations. UIDAI and NRSC are collaborating closely to determine the best methods for designing, integrating, and deploying the system on a priority basis.
