Reports from PureXbox confirm that notifications began appearing over the weekend, allowing eligible players to redeem bonus credit directly from their consoles.
Microsoft launched the original promotion in mid-December alongside the Xbox Countdown Sale. The company indicated that players who purchased EA Sports or 2K Sports titles could receive a $5 Xbox Gift Card plus in-game credit. However, several players who never bought those titles still received the reward. PureXbox suggests that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership may trigger eligibility, although Microsoft has not confirmed the criteria.
Players can check for the free $5 Xbox gift card directly from their console. Open the Microsoft Store app, navigate to the left sidebar, scroll up to your profile, and select “Offers & Credits.” If Xbox added a gift card to your account, the balance will appear there for instant redemption. Microsoft has not confirmed whether the rollout is happening in waves or reaching all users at once.
