Hollow Knight: Silksong is full of memorable NPCs, and one of the most important early merchants you’ll want to unlock is Jubilana, a wandering trader tied to The Wandering Merchant quest. Tracking her down is a bit of a process, but once you complete her storyline, she’ll relocate to Songclave and open her shop, offering some of the game’s most useful items.
How to Start the Wandering Merchant Quest
To begin the quest, you first need to progress into Act Two and ring the bell inside the First Shrine tower in the Songclave area of the Citadel. Ringing the bell turns the area into a safe hub, drawing in NPCs as the Caretaker predicted.
Once the hub is active, head to the Wishboard and pick up the side quest titled “The Wandering Merchant.” This sets Hornet on a mission to find Jubilana, who has gone missing in the halls of the Coral (or Choral) Chambers.
Where to Search for Jubilana in the Coral Chambers
The Coral Chambers are a sprawling vertical zone filled with dangers. Here’s what to expect:
- Start at the Larger Vertical Chamber – Once inside, look for a pile of bodies on a platform to the left. Interacting with this will give Hornet the first clue about Jubilana’s movements.
- Follow the Trail – You’ll come across more piles of remains and clues that gradually lead you deeper into the chambers. Each step narrows down her location.
- Fight Through Enemy Encounters – Eventually, the trail takes you into a smaller vertical chamber. Inside a left-hand side room, you’ll face a group of enemies. Clear them all out to trigger the next event.
- Jubilana Reveals Herself – After the fight, Jubilana emerges from hiding and speaks with Hornet. This marks the completion of The Wandering Merchant quest. Jubilana then agrees to travel to Songclave and set up her merchant stall.
Jubilana’s Relocation and Shop
Once the quest is finished, return to Songclave. You’ll find Jubilana to the right of the First Shrine. From here on, she operates as a full vendor, offering items that make exploration and progression far easier.
