The Dormant Barons quest in ARC Raiders sends you into the wastelands to salvage the remains of colossal war machines once known as Barons. These machines, now motionless relics of the First Wave, still hold valuable components within their ruined frames. The challenge lies not in finding them—but in surviving the volatile process of breaching their husks.
What Are Baron Husks?
Baron Husks are massive, spider-like remains of ARC war machines. They resemble downed mechs with legs scattered around a central core that still glows faintly. Though lifeless, these husks are far from harmless—their inner systems are unstable, triggering fiery reactions when breached.
In lore, the Barons once caused more destruction than any other ARC units during the First Wave. Now, they serve as salvage points where Raiders can extract rare ARC Powercells, Door Blockers, and other valuable tech.
How to Start the Dormant Barons Quest
You’ll receive the Dormant Barons assignment from Shani after completing the early missions in Speranza. She tasks you with opening up one of these fallen Barons and bringing back whatever remains useful inside.
The quest’s primary objective is simple:
- Objective: Loot a Baron Husk.
Once you complete the first breach and collect the Powercell, Shani will ask you to return safely to Speranza to finish the mission.
All Baron Husk Locations
The good news is that Baron Husks spawn in fixed locations across the open-world maps. You don’t have to rely on map modifiers or random spawns to find them.
1. Dam Battlegrounds
This is the most accessible location, especially for early players.
- Primary Husk: West of the Water Treatment Control area.
- Alternate Site: Around the Old Battleground region.
You can identify these sites by looking for giant mechanical carcasses with bent legs and a large central structure. Even from a distance, their silhouette stands out clearly on the horizon.
2. Spaceport
- Head to the central area of the Spaceport map.
- Move south from the Launch Towers, toward Control Tower A6 and Vehicle Maintenance.
You’ll find a Baron leaning against a wall near the Maintenance Hangar—a perfect example of how these dormant titans fell.
3. The Blue Gate
- Explore the wasteland edges around The Blue Gate region.
- Like the others, look for huge collapsed frames with glowing cores and scattered limbs.
All three zones contain at least one Baron Husk that can be looted for the quest. You only need one successful breach to complete the objective, but visiting multiple husks yields more salvage.
How to Breach a Baron Husk Safely
Once you’ve located a Baron Husk, here’s how to handle it properly:
- Scout the area first: Breaching makes significant noise and may attract nearby patrols or Raiders. Identify high ground or cover positions before starting.
- Climb to the top of the husk: Use the scattered legs or debris to reach the central core.
- Initiate the breach interaction: You’ll see a “Breach” prompt once you’re close to the circular center. Activating it triggers a timed sequence.
- Roll away immediately after breaching: When the sequence completes, the husk’s core ignites in a burst of flame. Jump or roll off the structure to avoid taking damage.
- Wait for the fire to burn out: The flames subside after a few seconds. Once clear, climb back up and interact again to loot the remains.
If another Raider has already looted the husk, you can still inspect it to progress your quest.

After breaching and looting a Baron Husk, you’ll receive the following rewards upon completion:
