The Pack-a-Punch machine is essential to surviving the harsh, fog-soaked expanse of Ashes of the Damned in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies.
But unlike classic round-based maps, the upgrade station here isn’t sitting in a corner of a building—it’s mounted on Ol’ Tessie, the map’s Wonder Vehicle. Before it becomes fully mobile, you must power up key locations and unlock Tessie’s upgrade bay.

Instead of being placed in one fixed location, the Pack-a-Punch attaches directly to Ol’ Tessie’s rear bumper, turning the truck into a roaming upgrade station. Once installed, you can access it anywhere Tessie can drive, which is a major advantage in a map as large and hostile as Ashes of the Damned.
Step 1: Get T.E.D.D.’s Head From the Server Room
You begin in the Janus Towers Plaza, where both Tessie and your first objective wait.

- Farm 1,250 Essence to unlock the Server Room door.
- Inside, melee the floor grate to reveal T.E.D.D.’s Head.
- Take the head outside and install it on Ol’ Tessie to power the vehicle and make it drivable.
This activation is mandatory—Tessie is required to break through zone gates and reach the Pack-a-Punch upgrade station.
Step 2: Restore Power at Vandorn Farm
With Tessie operational, drive toward Vandorn Farm, smashing through the wooden barricade beyond spawn.
What to do here:

- Locate the Power Pump on the west side of the farm.

- Destroy all Cysts around the pump within 30 seconds.
- Failing the timer resets the event next round.
- Climb to the upper level of the barn and flip the power switch.

Restoring power here activates the first major zone needed for Pack-a-Punch.
Step 3: Restore Power at Ashwood
Drive Tessie from Vandorn Farm to the frontier-town ruins of Ashwood.

Steps inside Ashwood:
- After entering, take the ascender on the left.
- Open two blocked paths:
- 1,000 Essence door
- 1,750 Essence debris
- Cross the bridge to reach another Power Pump. Clear the infestation again within 30 seconds.
- Flip the nearby switch to restore the Ashwood power grid.

Completing this second zone is the final requirement before accessing the Pack-a-Punch upgrade bay.
Step 4: Drive Tessie Into the Ashwood Garage

Once Ashwood’s power is active:
- A large garage near the main entrance automatically opens.
- Head back down the ascender and bring Ol’ Tessie inside.
This garage serves as the official upgrade station for all Tessie modifications, including the Pack-a-Punch.
Step 5: Install the Pack-a-Punch Machine
Inside the garage:
- Look for the Vehicle Upgrade Station or workbench.
- Interact with the prompt to install the Pack-a-Punch attachment onto Tessie’s rear bumper.

Once installed:
- Tessie’s exhaust transforms into the Pack-a-Punch machine.
- You can upgrade weapons by simply walking to the back of the truck.
- Tessie gains a speed boost, making Fog travel safer.
This is a one-time installation—after it’s unlocked, the Pack-a-Punch stays permanently mounted for the rest of the match.
