Mega Evolution is one of the core battle mechanics in Pokémon Legends ZA, and nearly every stage of the story expects you to use it. Wild Pokémon can Mega Evolve, enemy trainers rely on Megas in major battles, and several story missions are built around Rogue Mega Evolution encounters. Because of that, tracking down every Mega Stone matters—whether you want the best competitive-ready forms or simply want your favorites to reach their full power.

How Mega Stones Work in Legends ZA
You can only Mega Evolve after unlocking the Key Stone during Main Mission 9, where you’re introduced to Mega Evolution through a battle with a Rogue Mega Absol. Once unlocked:
- Only Pokémon holding their specific Mega Stone can Mega Evolve.
- Mega Stones must be equipped via the “Give Item to Hold” option in your menu.
- Mega Evolution activates once your Mega Power gauge reaches full during battle.
- Rogue Mega battles generate Mega Power differently—you collect orbs dropped after each attack.
Every Mega Stone is unique per save file, so you cannot hold multiple duplicates.
Where to Get Mega Stones
Mega Stones come from five major sources:
1. Stone Emporium (Vernal Avenue)
- Unlocked after Main Mission 9
- Purchased using Gold
- Carries early-game and classic Mega Stones.
2. Quasartico Inc. (Autumnal Avenue)
- Unlocked shortly after unlocking Mega Evolution
- Purchased using Mega Shards
- Stocks the majority of late-game Mega Stones.
3. Rogue Mega Evolution Boss Battles
- Defeating the Rogue Mega Pokémon awards its corresponding Mega Stone.
4. Mystery Gifts
- Timed online rewards for select Megas.
5. Ranked Battle Seasons (Z-A Battle Club)
- Season rewards tied to reaching Rank K or higher.
