The Forge starts you off with a handful of simple quests, but two of them often trip up new players: Tomo’s Lost Cat and Bard’s Guitar. Both items are tucked behind hidden paths and unmarked areas, making them easy to overlook if you don’t know where to go.

How to Find Bard’s Guitar in The Forge
The Bard’s Guitar quest is the easier of the two, and it acts as your introduction to hidden paths inside Stonewake’s Cross. You can start it as soon as you arrive in World 1.

Where to Start the Quest
You’ll find the Bard sitting near the main plaza campfire in Stonewake’s Cross. Talk to him and he’ll ask you to retrieve his missing guitar, which he lost somewhere inside the nearby cave.

Step-by-Step Guitar Location Guide
The guitar is located in a small hidden area just inside the cave:
- Enter the Cave on the first island from Stonewake’s Cross.
- Turn left immediately at the first intersection.
- Look for a patch of muddy ground and a leafy bush between two pillars.
- Step directly onto the bush.
The ground beneath it is actually an invisible hole, and you’ll drop into a secret room. - Inside the hidden chamber, you’ll find:
- The Bard’s Guitar lying on the ground
- A unique Undead Skeleton NPC who offers a bit of dialogue but no quest

Once you collect the guitar, climb the ladder to return to the main cave and head back to the Bard.
Bard’s Guitar Quest Rewards
Returning the guitar completes the quest and grants:
- Cash
- XP
- The Unknown Key – the most important reward
The Unknown Key is later used to unlock a gated area deeper inside the Stonewake’s Cross cave, giving access to the Arcane Pickaxe and another hidden room. It’s completely optional, but valuable.

How to Find Tomo’s Lost Cat in The Forge
The Lost Cat quest is more involved because it requires you to unlock World 2: Forgotten Kingdom and complete a long questline before the cat becomes accessible.

1. Complete Sensei Moro’s World 1 Quests
Before you can travel to World 2, you must finish all of Sensei Moro’s tasks in World 1. His final quest includes:
- Forging 3 items
- Collecting 35 ore
- Defeating 3 zombies
Completing his chain unlocks the enchantment/rune questline and leads you to the Wizard.
2. Obtain the Portal to World 2
Speak to the Wizard after Moro’s quests are finished. He grants you the item needed to create a portal. Place the portal in the world and interact with it to access World 2: Forgotten Kingdom.
3. Complete the Goblin King Questline
Tomo’s Lost Cat is hidden inside the Goblin Cave, but this area remains locked until you help the Goblin King.
Here’s what to expect:
- The Goblin King offers a multi-step questline
- You must pay him 85,000 coins across several quest parts
- This is not recommended early on unless you’ve built up a good stash
Completing the Goblin King’s quests rewards you with a key to the Goblin Cave.
4. Enter the Goblin Cave
Use the key to open the door beside the Goblin King. Inside the cave, follow the main path until you reach a waterfall.

Behind this waterfall is an invisible doorway—easy to miss unless you know it’s there.
5. Locate Tomo’s Lost Cat
Walk directly through the waterfall and into the hidden chamber behind it. Tomo’s Lost Cat is waiting inside.

Pick it up and return it to Tomo in World 1 for your rewards.
Quest Rewards for Finding the Lost Cat
Turning the cat in to Tomo grants:
- World progression benefits
- Coins and XP
- Access to later quests tied to Tomo’s storyline
The quest is optional but recommended, as the Goblin Cave contains resources and encounters useful for mid-game progression. Play Now!
Tips for Completing Both Quests Efficiently
- Do Bard’s Guitar first — it’s fast and unlocks the Unknown Key, which is useful inside the same area.
- Save money early if you plan to clear the Goblin King chain; the 85,000-coin requirement is steep for new players.
- Watch for hidden paths — both quests rely on invisible or unmarked entrances (bushes, waterfalls).
- Finish World 1 fully before attempting the Lost Cat quest. It will save time and reduce backtracking.
