To unlock it, you’ll gather three mechanical parts, then defeat O.S.C.A.R. three different ways using traps, modifiers, and timed environmental setups. This guide breaks down every step cleanly so you can secure the weapon as efficiently as possible.

Step 1 — Turn on Power & Pack-a-Punch

The entire quest is locked until both Power and the Pack-a-Punch machine are active. Do this immediately — later stages require a Pack-a-Punched weapon and waiting for O.S.C.A.R. respawns, so starting early prevents late-round difficulty spikes.

Step 2 — Collect the Three Required Parts

You need three components scattered throughout the map, all obtainable in any order.

1. Car Battery

Head to Ol’ Tessie in the spawn area. Shoot the hood using a Pack-a-Punched weapon, which flips it open and exposes the battery for pickup.

2. Aberrant Wiring

Search for lamp posts across the map — one will flash at random each match. Shoot the blinking pole to release the wiring component. This is the only randomized step, so sweep the map carefully.

3. Crashed UFO Component

Once Pack-a-Punch is unlocked, O.S.C.A.R. begins spawning. During the fight, destroy one of the drones circling him to make the UFO part drop. Collect it, but don’t kill O.S.C.A.R. yet — you will need him three times.

Step 3 — Defeat O.S.C.A.R. Three Different Ways

With all quest parts secured, you must eliminate O.S.C.A.R. under three separate conditions.
He respawns after a few rounds, so space the fights carefully.

Method A — Trap Kill in the Luminarium

Bring the Car Battery to the Luminarium.
Place it below the trap switch — this powers the device.
Lure O.S.C.A.R. inside when the next round begins.
Trigger the trap and survive while the machine overcharges and fries him.
After the kill, let him respawn before continuing.

Method B — Rocket Burn Kill in the Museum

This method requires Cryofreeze ammo mod and three Absolute Zero Fragments.

Shoot Aether Crystals until you have 3 fragments.
Deposit them in the Museum rocket room.
Start the launch sequence.
Position O.S.C.A.R. behind the rocket’s thrusters and let the ignition destroy him.

Respawn cycle repeats afterward.

Method C — Solar Beam Kill in the Observatory

This is the most technical step.

Find five steam-vent panels around the Observatory.
Shoot each one as they activate — only one is live at a time.
Complete the sequence to unlock the telescope.
Use the telescope and align your reticle on the sun.
A beam forms on the Pack-a-Punch platform — drag O.S.C.A.R. into it for the final kill.

Step 4 — Claim the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon

After the third unique kill condition is met, O.S.C.A.R. collapses permanently and drops the LGM-1 at your feet. Pick it up — it is now yours for the rest of the game.
