How to Find Shanties in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
A small musical note marks every shanty location, but only after you’ve explored that part of the map.
Hover over a location on the map screen to pull up everything tied to it, including nearby song sheets. Out in the world, a shanty looks like a pale, luminous page hanging in midair. Get too close and it bolts, forcing you to sprint after it before it vanishes for good. Losing the chase isn’t fatal, though; the page simply resets to where it first appeared.
Most shanties cluster in the major towns, Havana, Nassau, and Kingston, while the rest are scattered across smaller islands.
All Havana and Cape Bonavista Shanty Locations
Havana holds seven shanties, and one more waits in Cape Bonavista just west of the city.

Three shanties come from completing specific main quests rather than exploration, so you don’t need to hunt the map for these. Progress through the story and they unlock automatically.
How to Change Shanties While Sailing the Jackdaw
Once you collect a song sheet, it becomes available in the in-game selector.

What’s New With Shanties in Black Flag Resynced
This isn’t a straight port of the 2013 collectible list. Resynced folds in additional song sheets, so returning players who memorized the original hunt still have new ones to track down. The hunt-and-catch gameplay hasn’t changed, but there’s simply more of it now.
Tips for Collecting All Shanties Efficiently
Sync viewpoints and explore each region before chasing shanties. The map won’t show a song sheet icon until you’ve actually uncovered that area, so scouting ahead cuts down on repeat trips.
Don’t bolt straight for a drifting sheet. It moves along a fixed route, and tracking that route gets you there quicker than guessing where it’s headed.
Search populated areas as thoroughly as remote ones. Song sheets pop up in both, so skipping towns means skipping shanties.
