Eevee in Pokémon Legends Z-A: How to Get Every Evolution

Eevee makes a much-anticipated return in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and fans will be happy to know that all eight of its iconic evolutions are available. Whether you’re after the fiery Flareon or the graceful Sylveon, you can catch and evolve Eevee fairly early in the game — if you know where to look.

Where to Find Eevee in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Eevee can be found surprisingly early in Lumiose City, long before you unlock the late-game Wild Zones.

After you finish the opening tutorial and complete the side quests for Emma, you’ll be able to freely explore the city. Head toward the Bleu Sector (Sector 5) — this is located in the southwestern part of Lumiose.

  1. Locate the Nouveau Café Truck No. 2, which acts as a fast-travel point.
  2. Look to the left of the truck for some scaffolding leading up to the rooftops.
  3. Climb the scaffolding and move toward the upper-corner roof platform.
  4. Eevee spawns there during the daytime, often on the raised section of the rooftop.

It’s typically around level 16, so be prepared to either sneak up from behind for a back-catch or engage it in a quick battle. Use a regular or Great Ball from stealth range to increase your odds.

Tip: Save your game before attempting the catch. Eevee can flee if startled or if a Poké Ball fails to land, and reloading lets you retry instantly without waiting for it to respawn.

If you miss the capture, don’t worry — a new Eevee will respawn about five minutes after the previous one is caught or defeated. You can even AFK nearby and wait for its cry to alert you of its return.

Late-Game Eevee Locations

For players who prefer guaranteed encounters, Wild Zone 19 in the northeastern corner of the map also hosts Eevee spawns. These appear at around level 48–50 once you’ve advanced further in the story.

Later, in Wild Zone 20 (unlocked after completing the campaign), you may even find Alpha versions of Eevee’s evolutions roaming the central area — massive, high-level forms like Alpha Vaporeon or Alpha Glaceon.

How to Evolve Eevee into Every Eeveelution

Once you’ve caught your Eevees, it’s time to decide which forms to pursue. All eight evolutions from past generations are obtainable, and each follows its traditional evolution method.

How to Raise Eevee’s Friendship Quickly

Friendship is key to unlocking Espeon, Umbreon, and Sylveon, but raising it can take time. Here’s how to speed it up:

  • Keep Eevee in your party while exploring and battling.
  • Avoid fainting during fights.
  • Give it Exp. Candies to level faster.
  • Visit cafés or food trucks in Lumiose City and share Roserade Tea — four servings usually max out friendship.
  • Check its evolve option in the menu; when a small arrow icon appears next to its portrait, Eevee is ready to evolve.

You can also rest at a bench to change the time of day — ideal for evolving Espeon or Umbreon at the correct time.

Post-Game Eeveelutions and Alpha Forms

After finishing the main storyline, you’ll gain access to the post-game Wild Zones, where Alpha Eeveelutions appear. These high-level versions drop valuable EXP and evolution items and can even be shiny in rare cases.
Expect encounters such as:

  • Alpha Vaporeon in water zones
  • Alpha Leafeon near grassy rooftops
  • Alpha Glaceon in icy regions

They’re tough, but capturing them adds prestige to your roster.

Quick Tips for Collecting Every Eeveelution

  • Bring enough Poké Balls (20+ recommended) when farming rooftop Eevees.
  • Save often to avoid losing progress from failed captures.
  • Stock up on evolution stones from the Stone Emporium early.
  • Prioritize Friendship Evolutions first, since they take longer than stone evolutions.

With careful timing and a few hours of effort, you can complete the entire Eeveelution lineup in under an hour, giving your team broad type coverage for every challenge Lumiose City throws your way. Play Now!
