Fury Green Elemental Lock Puzzle Metroid Prime 4 Guide: Full Puzzle Solution

The Fury Green Elemental Lock Puzzle is one of the standout environmental challenges early in Metroid Prime 4. It sits inside the Sacred Flame Ceremony chamber and acts as a multi-stage test of your elemental tools. This is not a puzzle that you solve in one visit—progress is tied directly to weapon upgrades unlocked later in the game. Understanding how each part fits together will save a return trip and keeps your exploration smooth and purposeful.

Where to Find the Elemental Lock

The puzzle is located inside the Sacred Flame Ceremony chamber in Fury Green. You’ll reach this room not long after gaining psychic manipulation abilities, but full completion only becomes possible after earning Fire Shot, Ice Shot, and Thunder Shot. Think of this room as a hub—each element corresponds to a separate door, puzzle, and reward, all contributing to a final payoff once every chamber is cleared.

The large circular platform in the center acts as the core mechanism. Step onto it and you can interact with rotating components, viewable through your Psychic Visor, that open new paths depending on which elemental upgrade you currently possess.

1. Fire Element – Lighting the Braziers

This is the first part most players will complete, as it only requires the Fire Shot upgrade.

Steps:

  1. Step on the pressure plate in the center of the room to activate the rotating ring.
  2. Use your psychic movement ability to rotate the ring along its rail tracks.
  3. Align the viewing center of the ring with each covered brazier.
  4. When the brazier opens, shoot through the ring with Fire Shot to ignite it.
  5. Repeat for all braziers surrounding the chamber.

When every brazier is lit, a door opens near the statue. This confirms the fire segment is complete. You’ll return later once the other elements are unlocked.

2. Ice Element – Frozen Water Lift Puzzle

(Requires Ice Shot)

Once you have the Ice Shot ability, unlock the left door inside the Sacred Flame chamber.

What you must do inside this room:

  1. Enter the chamber and locate the two water lift pillars.
  2. Freeze the water-powered platform on the left to hold it in place.
  3. Use your Psychic Visor to move the mote from its base into the right fountain.
  4. Activate the second fountain—freeze that platform as well.
  5. Jump across both frozen lifts and reach the upper platform to collect the reward.

Completing the Ice Chamber triggers a white orb to return to the main statue—meaning segment two of the lock is complete.

3. Thunder Element – The Conductive Rod Alignment

(Requires Thunder Shot)

With the Thunder Shot acquired, return to the Sacred Flame Ceremony and open the right-side door.

Inside you’ll find:

  • Three suspended rods with movable sections.
  • A central pod that reacts to correctly aligned electrical input.

Solve it like this:

  1. Use your Psychic Visor to pull each rod downward until it reaches full extension.
  2. Rotate the rod heads so all are aimed cleanly at the central pod tip.
  3. Once aligned, hit each rod with Thunder Shot until the cutscene confirms activation.

This completes the final elemental lock.

Final Reward for Solving All Three Elements

With Fire, Ice, and Thunder completed, return to the statue at the heart of the room. After the final orb has merged with it, the floor panel opens and a new Energy Tank rises up. This upgrade permanently increases Samus’ health—valuable for boss fights and late-game encounters.

Unlike many one-and-done interactions early in Metroid Prime 4, the Fury Green Elemental Lock encourages repeat visits and reinforces the layered progression that defines the Prime series. Each return trip is smoother, more efficient, and ultimately more rewarding once the final chamber is complete.

If you complete these three segments as you acquire each elemental ability, you’ll always stay ahead of the pacing curve—and walk away with extra firepower for the challenges waiting beyond Fury Green. Play Now!
