Unlike other events, getting involved in the Captain Pikachu Timed Research doesn’t require a ticket purchase or a simple login. Instead, players need to redeem a special Pokémon Go promo code. This code, shared by the developers on the official Pokémon Go channel, is your ticket to this exciting adventure.
Once the code is redeemed, which can be done following a guide or directly on the Pokémon Go web store’s code redemption page, the Captain Pikachu Timed Research will appear on your Timed Research page when you log back into the game.
The Timed Research Tasks
The Captain Pikachu Timed Research is a limited-time event. Players have from March 8, 2024, starting at 12 am local time, until March 13, 2024, ending at 11.59 pm local time, to complete the tasks and claim the rewards.
The tasks are straightforward and align with the usual Pokémon Go gameplay:
- Explore 3 km to earn 30 Poké Balls
- Catch 20 Pokémon to receive 5 Razz Berries
- Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms for 3 Revives
Upon completion of all these tasks, players will be rewarded with an encounter with Captain Pikachu, 5000 XP, and 2500 Stardust.
A Chance to Encounter a Shiny
For the lucky ones, there’s even a chance to encounter a Shiny Captain Hat Pikachu. However, it’s worth noting that this special Pikachu variant cannot be evolved into a Captain’s Hat Raichu.
