Marvel Games’ General Manager Haluk Mentes has hinted that the studio behind Marvel’s Spider-Man and the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine will likely continue creating more superhero adventures in the future. In a recent interview with Game Informer, Mentes emphasized that Marvel’s collaboration with Insomniac Games is built on shared creative values and a deep mutual trust—something that will continue “for many years to come.”

This statement aligns with how Marvel Games has handled its partnerships in recent years, nurturing long-term relationships with developers who understand and respect the brand’s legacy. Insomniac has clearly become one of Marvel’s most valued collaborators.
Insomniac Journey: From Spider-Man to Wolverine
Insomniac’s journey with Marvel began in 2018 with Marvel’s Spider-Man, a game that redefined what a superhero title could feel like. The success continued with Miles Morales in 2020 and Spider-Man 2 in 2023. Each release pushed storytelling, movement, and combat mechanics to new heights, cementing Insomniac as the premier studio for Marvel’s single-player experiences.
Now, the studio is preparing to bring Logan—the adamantium-clawed Wolverine—to life in 2026. According to Mentes, Marvel’s Wolverine is the “epitome” of Marvel’s creative philosophy: when a developer completes a project with Marvel, they essentially “become Marvel.”
That statement underscores the company’s confidence in Insomniac’s ability to carry the torch for its most beloved heroes.

Mentes explained that Marvel’s approach to gaming extends beyond individual projects—it’s about passing the creative torch to new generations. He described Marvel’s nearly 90-year history as a continuous evolution where each era of creators leaves a mark for the next.
“We feel we have a debt of gratitude to deliver for the players and future creators, whose first encounter with Marvel might well be one of our games,” said Mentes.
This long-term mindset explains why Marvel fosters partnerships with studios that share its culture of innovation. Once a developer successfully collaborates with Marvel, they become part of the extended “Marvel family.”
Future Marvel Superhero Games from Insomniac
While no official announcements have been made about Insomniac’s next project, the studio’s future looks busy. Leaked internal documents in 2023 suggested plans for a Venom spin-off and a possible Spider-Man 3 with a tentative 2028 window. However, given Insomniac’s current workload and evolving roadmap, these timelines may have shifted.
Still, Mentes’ comments confirm that Marvel sees the collaboration as an ongoing partnership, not a one-off deal. With Wolverine already showcasing darker tones and more visceral combat compared to the Spider-Man titles, fans can expect Insomniac to continue exploring different corners of the Marvel universe once the claws retract.
Marvel’s broader gaming portfolio is growing fast, with projects like Marvel Rivals from NetEase expanding its multiplayer presence. Yet, when it comes to cinematic single-player experiences, Insomniac remains unmatched.
If Wolverine hits the same high bar set by the Spider-Man series, it’s easy to imagine Marvel handing the studio the keys to more heroes—from the X-Men to street-level vigilantes.
As Mentes concluded, “It was our shared culture and values that brought us together, and we’re so proud to continue collaborating for many years to come.”
In short, Marvel’s Wolverine may not just be the end of a trilogy—it could be the start of an even bigger era for Insomniac in the Marvel universe.
