Monument Valley 3 PC and Console Release Set for July 2025 with New Features and Cross-Platform Debut

After nearly a decade of shaping mobile puzzle games, the Monument Valley series is expanding. Ustwo Games has announced that Monument Valley 3 will launch on July 22, 2025, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. This is the first time the series releases on multiple platforms simultaneously, ending its mobile-only legacy.

Monument Valley Leap to Big Screens

From Escher-inspired illusions to storybook silence, Monument Valley has always been more than puzzles. Now, part 3 steps beyond the touchscreen and lands on consoles and PC.

The series has long enchanted players with surreal worlds, clever puzzles, and wordless storytelling. Earlier entries made their way to PC and consoles post-launch, but this one arrives day-one across all platforms. The news dropped at Wholesome Direct 2025 during Summer Game Fest—signaling a wider reach than ever before.

Originally launched on mobile via Netflix Games in December 2024, Monument Valley 3 follows a new protagonist, Noor. Her journey? To explore shifting dreamlike realms and search for a source of light before darkness takes over. If you’ve played the previous games, guiding a lone figure through impossible spaces will feel familiar—but this time, there are new twists.

Fresh Mechanics and a World That Breathes

This entry adds more than just a new story. It evolves the formula with bold new mechanics and open-ended navigation.

One standout feature is the sailboat, letting players freely travel between areas. It’s the kind of shift that invites quiet reflection—like a dream you can steer.

Each chapter introduces new mechanics and interactions. The game moves from abstract cities to coastal harbors and surreal dreamscapes. It’s a constant visual refresh. The art draws from M.C. Escher, global architecture, and experimental design. Paired with ambient music, the game builds an experience that feels calm but urgent.

Some players may see echoes of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, but Monument Valley 3 leans harder into physics-defying visuals and mind-bending puzzles.

Built for Bigger Screens and More Stories

The console and PC versions are fully optimized. Expect smooth controls with keyboard, mouse, and gamepad support. The visuals take full advantage of larger screens, while the interface stays clean and intuitive.

Even better—these versions come bundled with the first seasonal update, titled “The Garden of Life.” It adds a new narrative chapter and tougher puzzles. More seasonal content is planned later this year.

While pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, Monument Valley 2 cost around $5–$8 depending on platform. The mobile version of MV3 remains free with a Netflix subscription.

Try Before You Drift: Steam Demo Now Live

Curious players can try Monument Valley 3 early. A free demo is available on Steam from June 9 to 16 during Steam Next Fest. It’s a chance to explore Noor’s world and preview the new mechanics before the full game drops.

Also, the game is coming to Nintendo Switch and it’s forward compatible with Switch 2, meaning the experience will hold up on the newer console.

From Minimalism to Masterpiece: The Series Grows Up

Monument Valley 3 doesn’t just continue the franchise—it refines it. By launching beyond mobile, Ustwo Games expands the series into something more ambitious. It’s now a meditative, cross-platform art game made for a wider audience.

Earlier this year, Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 also received console and PC ports. Together with the third title, they now form a complete trilogy across generations.

The Journey Continues Past July

With Monument Valley 3, Ustwo Games welcomes new players while honoring longtime fans. It’s a confident expansion that still respects its quiet roots. Whether you’re revisiting the Valley or stepping into it for the first time, July 22 promises a beautifully strange adventure.

Let me know if you’d like a breakdown by platform, a puzzle design comparison across the trilogy, or recommendations for other artistic puzzle games to explore next.
