Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive starts you off as Sung Jinwoo, but the game opens up quickly with a large roster of Hunters who can support you in missions, side stages, and co-op play. Each Hunter comes with their own role, weapon type, and elemental identity—making roster building one of the most enjoyable systems in the game.

How Hunter Recruitment Works in Overdrive
Overdrive avoids the typical gacha format seen in mobile RPGs. Instead, Hunter recruitment is tied to story progression and a negotiation system:
Story Unlocks
Some Hunters join naturally as you clear early chapters.
Recruitment System
Unlocked later, this system lets you negotiate with Hunters using Hunter Coins or extremely rare Bounty Posters.
Recruitment difficulty determines how many Coins you’ll need and the base chance of success.
From reference:
- Easy difficulty: ~100 Coins → around 45% success
- Hard difficulty: ~900 Coins → around 30% success
- You get three attempts per negotiation before it resets

How to Recruit Hunters (Step-by-Step)
- Reach Chapter 4 to unlock the Hunter Recruitment system.
- Head to the bottom floor of the lobby and talk to Lim Hajim.
- You will be shown three random Hunters.
- Pick one to enter negotiation.
- Use Hunter Coins to increase the odds they accept.
- If all three negotiation attempts fail, you’ll need to wait and try again.
Using Bounty Posters
- These rare items let you bypass the negotiation phase.
- Best used only for your favorite high-difficulty Hunters.
Tips for Players
- Recruit Easy-difficulty Hunters early to build depth without burning Coins.
- Use Wind or Water Assassins for mobility-based content and farming missions.
- Invest in tanks (Kim Chul, Seo Jiwoo) early for survivability in harder stages.
- If playing co-op often, secure at least one strong healer (Min Byung-Gu or Joohee).
Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive keeps character progression engaging without relying on a gacha model. With the mix of story unlocks and negotiation-based recruitment, building your roster feels intentional—letting you work toward your ideal squad rather than hoping for lucky pulls.
