Two Men thrashed, forced to lick spit for refusing to vote for candidates in village polls

Dalits forced to lick spit, Bihar, India: Two Dalits youths from Aurangabad’s Kutumba block in Bihar were brutally assaulted for refusing to vote for a candidate in the election for the village head of Singhna village, Aurangabad District, Bihar.

The candidate, Balwant Singh, was so enraged by the duo’s refusal to vote for him that he made them lick sputum from the ground. Then, he forced Anil Kumar and Manjeet Kumar to do sit-ups.

A video of the incident immediately became viral on social media. Balwant Singh was arrested after the district magistrate and superintendent of Police took cognizance of the incident.

“The offender was arrested in response to a complaint lodged by the two youths. The accused chief contested for village head in the local elections. “A charge sheet will be filed against him soon,” SP Kantesh Mishra stated.
