In Hollow Knight: Silksong, benches are your early lifeline—safe spots to rest, heal, and map your progress across Pharloom. But as Hornet’s journey expands, you eventually gain access to something far more permanent: your own Bellhome in Bellhart. This personal refuge doesn’t just serve as a rest point—it also unlocks new ways to track your progress and make use of the mysterious Materium.

The Bellhome is locked when you first arrive in Bellhart. To claim it, you need to earn the Bellhome Key by working with the townsfolk:
- Complete Wishes in Bellhart – These are requests posted on the Wishwall by NPCs. Focus especially on Donate Wishes tied to restoring the town, such as Restoration of Bellhart.
- Speak to Pavo Often – After finishing certain Wishes, check back with Pavo in Bellhart. He’s the NPC who eventually gives Hornet the Bellhome Key.
- Progress if Stuck – If Pavo doesn’t hand over the key immediately, complete more Wishes, then leave and re-enter Bellhart a few times to refresh his dialogue.
Once you have the Bellhome Key, head to the upper section of Bellhart, just above the Relic Seeker Scrounge’s house. Unlock the door and Hornet will finally have a place of her own. Entering it for the first time grants the Resident achievement.
All Bellhome Furniture and Upgrades
A bare Bellhome feels incomplete, but Bellhart offers several upgrades through Frey’s shop. Each piece adds utility or flair:
- Desk & Materium – The Desk displays your Relic and Cylinder collections, including items you’ve already handed over. The Materium works alongside it, cataloging other collectibles Hornet has discovered.
- Gleamlights – Decorative string lights costing 320 Rosaries, brightening your home.
- Bell Lacquer – Lets you repaint your Bellhome. A reload of the area is needed to finalize the new color.
- Personal Spa – The most important addition. Like the Citadel Spa, it restores both HP and Silk. However, it costs a hefty 1100 Rosaries. If it doesn’t appear in Frey’s stock, try purchasing other items first or leave and return to reset her shop.
How To Get Materium
Materium is a Key Item tied to Hornet’s progress and research. You’ll find it in Memorium, north of the room where you collect a Cogheart Piece.
It appears as tubes and receptacles, hinting at its purpose: recording and storing information about items Hornet has encountered.
How To Use Materium
Once installed in your Bellhome, the Materium acts as a catalog of Hornet’s journey. It displays every item she has collected, even those no longer in her inventory. This makes it invaluable for:
- Reviewing past discoveries.
- Tracking Relics and Cylinders you’ve already turned in.
- Keeping a permanent record of progress outside your bag.
Think of it as Hornet’s personal archive—a way to look back at her growth while also enhancing the functionality of her new home.
