The Tour questline in Escape from Tarkov doesn’t give players much guidance, especially once the objectives move toward Shoreline. One of the most confusing tasks is figuring out how to actually contact the soldiers stationed at the Terminal. The game drops hints, but you’re largely on your own when it comes to finding the comms point and interacting with the correct device.
Step 1: Finish Your Woods Tasks and Speak With Skier
The Terminal-related objectives only appear after completing the Woods portion of the Tour quest. Once you return to Skier, he sends you toward Shoreline with new instructions:
- Locate the entrance to the Port Terminal
- Proceed into the area and prepare to make contact with soldiers stationed there
There is no alternative route to the Terminal. All progress funnels through Shoreline.
Step 2: Enter Shoreline and Move Toward the Port
The quest funnels you toward the main road leading from the Road to Customs extraction point, which eventually connects to the Port Terminal’s outer gate. This road is your primary navigation line.
Once you reach Shoreline:
- Head to Road to Customs.
- Follow the main roadway straight down toward the Port.
- Keep an eye out for military obstacles and vehicles—they indicate that you’re getting close.
Step 3: Identify the Roadblock and the Watchtower
As you continue down the road, you’ll spot a series of visual cues that confirm you’ve arrived at the correct place:
- A yellow bus positioned near a blocked-off segment of the road
- A watchtower directly beside the bus
- Military barricades preventing entry into the base
This checkpoint marks the exact location where all three Terminal objectives are completed.
Step 4: Locate the Comms Device Under the Watchtower
The objective isn’t to reach the soldiers physically—approaching them directly is dangerous and unnecessary. Instead, the interaction point you’re looking for is:
- A communications device mounted at the base of the watchtower
- Positioned right next to the large yellow bus
Approach the device and interact with it. This single action completes:
- Find a way to contact the soldiers at the Terminal
- Use the intercom to contact the Port Garrison
- Locate the entrance to the Port Terminal
Make sure you press the center activation point on the device. The lower buttons are non-functional and won’t trigger quest completion.
What Happens After Completing the Terminal Objectives
Once the comms device interaction is successful and all three tasks are marked complete, the next stage of Tour transitions into a progression-focused quest:
- Speak with Prapor and Mechanic.
- Mechanic will ask for $20,000.
- You must also survive and extract from Shoreline afterward.
There’s no rush to proceed unless you have the money. The game expects you to gather gear, complete side quests, or loot high-value spawns—like LEDX units on the expanded Interchange—before continuing.
