Heartopia has launched its first major seasonal update with the Winter Frost Season Event, bringing limited-time quests, winter mechanics, and exclusive unlockables to the game. The event introduces a new storyline centered around the mysterious Frostspore Infection, which spreads across the town due to extreme cold conditions. Players now help villagers, protect wildlife, and unlock seasonal content through daily objectives and special interactions.

The Winter Frost Season runs from January 24, 2026, at 5:00 AM until March 14, 2026, at 5:00 AM, with daily resets occurring around 6:00 AM server time. The first week functions as a preparation period before the full seasonal activities unlock.
What the Winter Frost Season Adds to Heartopia
The Winter Frost Season transforms the town with snow-covered environments and new interactive systems. The Frostspore Infection visibly spreads across creatures, creating special seasonal encounters and collectibles.

During snowfall, players can shovel snow and build snowmen across the map. Players can even transform into a snowman for photos and interactions. A limited-time concert event also appears, allowing players to purchase glow sticks, enjoy music, and watch fireworks.

Several new vendors expand crafting and cooking options. Blanc begins selling radishes, while Massimo offers frosting for recipes. Construction zones appear near Onsen Mountain, previewing the upcoming Ice Rink Dream, which unlocks figure skating content later in the season. Daily egg-hunting activities and additional winter-themed cosmetic items also roll out progressively throughout the event.
Limited-Time Unlockables and Special Interactions
The Winter Frost Season introduces a cosmetic unlock called Frostbitten Skin, which gives characters a pale blue appearance. Players unlock this skin by standing in Frostbitten weather while wearing non-winter clothing for a total of eight hours of active playtime. A snowflake icon in the upper-left corner of the screen confirms when the character remains in extreme cold zones.

The event also unlocks a new two-person friend interaction called Frame The Winter. Players unlock this interaction by maintaining a friendship interaction with the same friend for seven consecutive days during the event period. Each friendship tracks progress independently.
Winter Frost Prep Phase Explained
The first phase of the event acts as a preparation window from January 24 through January 31. Players must meet two requirements to participate:
- Reach Level 7 DG Guild Membership
- Complete the main story quest “The Answer Lies Within”
Once eligible, players receive a call from Atara upon login, which unlocks the Winter Prep app on the in-game watch and starts the first quest chain.

Phase I: Cold Weather Warning
Phase I runs from January 24 to January 31. Players complete short daily quests through the Winter Prep app. These objectives reward stamps and unlock cosmetic furniture items such as:
- Night Fishing Moka Light
- Penguin Pet Sofa
The quests remain designed for casual completion rather than speed grinding, allowing steady progression without pressure.
Phase II: Resident Feedback Collection
Phase II unlocks on January 26 and shifts objectives toward gathering feedback from Heartopia residents. Completing these tasks unlocks the Silent Egg Grabbing Machine and contributes stamps toward future seasonal unlocks.
How to Unlock the Winter Frost Season Event
Players start the event by following a short investigation sequence:
- Wait for a call from Atara after logging in.
- Travel to Town Hall to search for missing documents.
- Visit Bailey J’s second-floor bird workshop.
- Speak with Bailey J and Annie to finalize event access.
Completing these steps unlocks the Winter Prep app and begins daily seasonal quests immediately.
