March 2026 is shaping up to be a massive month for Pokémon GO, and Niantic is expanding the Galar roster once again. Three Gen 8 Pokémon — Blipbug, Dottler, and Orbeetle — are officially arriving during the upcoming Bug Out event.

If you’ve been waiting to complete your Galar Pokédex, this event gives you multiple ways to catch, evolve, and raid these newcomers. Here’s everything you need to know.

Gen 8 Pokémon Debut: Blipbug Evolution Line

Blipbug, Dottler, and Orbeetle originally debuted in Pokémon Sword and Shield from the Galar region. Now they’re entering Pokémon GO with full evolution support.

Evolution Requirements:

  • Blipbug → Dottler: 25 Blipbug Candy
  • Dottler → Orbeetle: 100 Blipbug Candy

Blipbug will:

  • Spawn in the wild
  • Appear in One-Star Raids
  • Be included in the GO Pass encounter rewards

That gives players several reliable methods to farm candy and complete the full evolution chain.

Bug Out Event Dates

The Bug Out event runs:

March 17 at 10:00 AM → March 23 at 8:00 PM (Local Time)

During this window, Bug-type Pokémon take over spawns, raids, and bonuses.

Lure Module Rotations (Event Bonus)

Lure Modules will rotate featured Bug-types throughout the event:

March 17 – March 19

  • Paras
  • Sizzlipede

March 19 – March 21

  • Cutiefly
  • Sizzlipede

March 21 – March 23

  • Combee
  • Sizzlipede

Paras, Combee, and Cutiefly will have boosted Shiny odds when attracted by standard Lure Modules.

Wild Spawn Boosts

During Bug Out, players will see increased wild spawns for:

  • Caterpie
  • Dwebble
  • Sizzlipede
  • Nymble
  • Scyther

All have Shiny potential.

Raid Lineup During Bug Out

Three-Star Raids:

  • Pinsir
  • Scizor
  • Kleavor

All have Shiny availability.

Blipbug will headline One-Star Raids, making it easier to farm evolution candy quickly.
