Automotive Appeal is Cruella’s first Friendship Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, unlocked after completing The Skunk Rebellion in Wishblossom Mountains. This quest turns you into an honorary mechanic as Cruella demands help restoring her prized car—not to make it run, of course, but to make it look impressive again.
Start the Quest: Talk to Goofy
Cruella sends you straight to Goofy for help with the repairs. Find him anywhere in the Valley and start the conversation to officially begin the mission.
Goofy explains that the engine is beyond saving, but Cruella only cares about the car’s appearance, so your job is mostly cosmetic.
Dress Up Like a Mechanic
Before collecting anything, the game requires you to look the part.
Open Wardrobe → select clothing pieces tagged Rustic or Casual.
You must equip:
- A rustic or casual top
- Rustic or casual pants
- Rustic or casual shoes
Once your outfit matches the theme, the quest will move forward.
Gather Materials for the Automobile Mechanic’s Toolbox
Your next task is to craft an Automobile Mechanic’s Toolbox, which requires several items from different parts of the Glamour Gulch and Wishing Alps regions.
Here’s where to find everything:
Antique Clothes Irons (20)
- Mine rock nodes across Glamour Gulch biomes:
Haute Plateau, Runway River, Modish Marsh, Paisley Park - Because you need 20, bring a mining buddy to speed up the process.
Rusty Hinges (5)
- Dig anywhere in the Wishing Alps:
Wishing Way, Wishblossom Ranch, Delver Dale, Ranch Highlands, Silver Summit
Wire Coat Hangers (3)
- Fish in open water without bubbles in Glamour Gulch areas:
Haute Plateau, Runway River, Modish Marsh, Paisley Park
Jasper (2)
- Mine stone nodes throughout Glamour Gulch.
- This is the slowest material to collect. Players typically need multiple mining runs, so again—bring a mining companion.
Craft the Toolbox
Once you’ve collected all materials:
- Go to any crafting station.
- Open the Functional Items tab.
- Craft the Automobile Mechanic’s Toolbox.
- Make sure the toolbox is in your inventory.
- Bring it to Goofy.
He’ll take over most of the repair work—except one problem he can’t solve alone.
Mount Maximus and Follow the Scent Trail
The car’s upholstery fabric is missing, and only Maximus can sniff it out.
- Mount Maximus.
- Head to Cruella’s Car in the Quarry at the north of Paisley Park.
- Interact with the red smoke to activate the trail.
Follow the Fabric Trail
The scent leads you across several zones:
- Up the wooden ramp exiting the Quarry
- South through Paisley Park
- Across the stone bridge into Runway River
- Up the stone steps into Haute Plateau
- Over the iron bridge
- Into Cruella’s estate area from The Skunk Rebellion
At the far east side of the biome, you’ll find Upholstery Fabric on the ground.
Pick it up and bring it back to Goofy.
Return to the Quarry and Set Up Cruella’s Display
Goofy heads back to the Quarry to finish the cosmetic repairs. Meet him there, then prepare Cruella’s “grand showcase.”
You must place three pieces of furniture, one from each category:
- Purple Furniture
- Modern Furniture
- Traditional Furniture
You can choose any items from these categories, so use whatever fits your style.
Place the decorations around Cruella’s restored car.
Take a Picture of Cruella’s Car
Equip your Camera and take a photo of the newly decorated display. Cruella wants her vehicle to look important, so frame the shot well.
Talk to Cruella to Finish the Quest
Once the photo is taken, speak with Cruella to complete Automotive Appeal.
Completing this quest rewards:
- A large amount of Cruella friendship progress
- Cruella’s Car as a placeable furniture item in your valley
