Developer Gameplay Group International built the roster around fast, hand drawn combat and a rollback netcode system that keeps matches smooth across platforms. Azula and Fire Lord Ozai add aggressive firebending options on the villain side, while Zaheer brings a distinct airbending style from The Legend of Korra.

Avatar State Aang and Avatar State Korra stand out because they are not power up variants. Each one runs a separate moveset and gameplay identity, so players choose between the base Avatar or the Avatar State version depending on playstyle.

Combat styles across the roster

Every fighter leans into a different combat identity instead of repeating the same tools with new skins. The roster splits across airbending, waterbending, earthbending, firebending, weapon based combat, and Avatar State fighters. Sokka fights without bending at all, relying on weapons and precision attacks that play nothing like the elemental cast. Azula, Ozai, and Zaheer push aggressive offense and mobility, while Toph and Katara lean into defensive, technical play.

Year 1 Pass: five DLC fighters confirmed

Post launch support adds five more characters through the Year 1 Pass. Four are already locked in, and the fifth comes from a fan vote tied to pre-orders.

Iroh brings a technical, patient firebending style built around his fan favorite status. Ty Lee is the roster’s fastest non-bender, built on acrobatics and chi blocking. The fifth slot goes to a community vote. Candidates include Tenzin, Kuvira, Amon, King Bumi, and Asami Sato. Pre-order customers get access to this vote, and the winner has not been confirmed as a playable fighter yet.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game launches digitally on July 23, 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. A physical release follows later in 2026, expected to line up with the Nintendo Switch successor.
