Diablo IV Season 12 PTR Goes Live With Killstreaks, Bloodied Gear, and New Uniques

Blizzard Entertainment has opened the Diablo IV 2.6.0 Public Test Realm (PTR), giving players an early look at Season 12 and its core systems ahead of launch. The PTR runs February 3 to February 10, and it focuses on fast-paced combat loops, risk-reward itemization, and broader build diversity.

Killstreak System Changes Core Gameplay

Season 12 introduces a full Killstreak system that rewards aggressive, uninterrupted combat across all activities. Rapid kills start a streak, and continued damage or eliminations keep it alive. As the streak climbs through multiple tiers, players gain increased rewards at the end of the run. Dying immediately ends the streak and forfeits rewards, pushing a high-risk, high-reward playstyle.

Bloodied Items Add Scaling Power

The PTR also debuts Bloodied Items, a new item quality that scales with Killstreak performance. Any item type can roll as Bloodied, including Ancestral gear. These items introduce three affix categories:

  • Rampage affixes scale directly with Killstreak tier
  • Feast affixes trigger bonuses based on total kills
  • Hunger affixes increase reward drops such as Runes

This system ties player power directly to momentum instead of passive stat stacking.

Bloodied Sigils Raise the Stakes

New Bloodied Sigils modify endgame activities like Nightmare Dungeons and Lair Bosses once players reach Torment I. These sigils unleash a relentless version of The Butcher that continuously hunts the player. Difficulty increases by roughly one Torment tier, but completion guarantees Bloodied Item drops, reinforcing the season’s risk-driven design.

All New Multi-Class Unique Items Arrive in Diablo 4 Season 12

Season 12 adds five new Unique items, with most usable across multiple classes. This marks the first major push toward general Uniques since late 2024.

1. Blood-Mad Idol (Unique Amulet) — All Classes

Affixes

  • +51–65 All Stats
  • +8.3–10% Attack Speed
  • +7–8% Critical Strike Chance
  • +17.5–31.5% Damage Reduction while Injured

Unique Power

  • You are always Berserking
  • Take 200% increased Burning damage over 8 seconds
  • While Burning, Berserking grants 75–125% increased damage

This amulet turns Berserking into a permanent state but forces players to manage extreme self-damage. It is clearly aimed at high-skill builds that can sustain or cleanse Burning while abusing massive damage scaling.

2. Wendigo Brand (Unique Ring) — All Classes

Affixes

  • +424–457 Life
  • +855–1,086 Life Regeneration
  • +146–159 Life on Hit
  • +441–490 Physical Resistance

Unique Power

  • Every 15 kills within 30–60 seconds:
    • +2% Damage
    • +1% Maximum Life

This ring rewards momentum-based gameplay. The more efficiently enemies fall, the stronger the character becomes, making it an excellent pairing with Killstreak and Bloodied Item mechanics.

3. Rustbitten Dirk (Unique Dagger) — Sorcerer, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer

Affixes

  • +51–65 All Stats
  • +424–457 Life
  • +8.3–10% Attack Speed
  • +40–50% Vulnerable Damage

Unique Power

  • Deal 50–100% increased damage to Isolated enemies

This dagger heavily favors single-target burst builds, boss killers, and elite hunters. Any setup that consistently isolates enemies gains massive damage efficiency.

4. Wyrdskin (Unique Gloves) — All Classes

Affixes

  • +424–457 Life
  • +1–2 Ranks to Core Skills
  • +7–8% Critical Strike Chance
  • +8.3–10% Attack Speed

Unique Power

  • Attacks apply:
    • Vulnerable to Distant enemies
    • Weakened to Close enemies
  • Deal 10–30% increased damage to enemies affected by both

Wyrdskin simplifies debuff management and rewards mixed-range combat. It fits builds that rotate positioning or pull enemies between close and distant states.

5. Thousand-Eye Reaver (Unique One-Handed Axe) — Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin

Affixes

  • +424–457 Life
  • +7–8% Critical Strike Chance
  • +36.5–50% Movement Speed on Elite Kill
  • Lucky Hit: Up to 40% chance to deal 900–2,400 Physical Damage

Unique Power

  • Moving grants Ferocity
  • Maximum Ferocity increased by 1–3
  • Each Ferocity stack grants 4–8% Movement Speed

This axe turns movement into power. Fast-paced builds gain speed, damage, and momentum simply by staying in motion, making it ideal for aggressive melee play.

These items aim to expand meta flexibility, especially for Necromancer and Druid builds that can use the full set.

PTR Tools and Fast Testing

The PTR includes upgraded boost vendors, instant progression options, maxed glyphs, unlocked Torment tiers, and direct access to Bloodied Items and Sigils. Blizzard wants rapid testing and clear feedback before Season 12 launches.

How to Join the Diablo IV PTR

Players can access the PTR on PC through Battle.net:

  1. Open Battle.net and select Diablo IV
  2. Choose Public Test Realm from the version menu
  3. Install and launch the PTR client
  4. Create a new test character, preferably Seasonal

Game Pass PC users follow the same Battle.net flow through the Xbox app.

Season 12 positions Diablo IV toward faster combat loops and broader item experimentation while laying groundwork for the Lord of Hatred expansion later this year. Blizzard describes the season as focused and streamlined, with additional surprises planned closer to launch.
