Who is Shelley?

Where to Find Shelley
Unlike other Dateables who have a fixed location, you can find Shelley by using your Dateviators on practically any shelf in your home. She’s often hanging around:
- Shelves in the bedroom closet
- Shelves in the living room
- Shelves near your bed
While you can usually trigger Shelley by visiting any shelf, one reliable method is scanning the Rod in the bedroom closet. Be sure to interact with the Rod itself rather than individual hangers.
After finishing the tutorial, approach any shelf to trigger your first scene with her.
Shelley’s Storyline & Encounters
Dating Shelley involves several unique encounters that reveal her true personality.
1. The First Meeting
- Trigger: Approach any shelf after the tutorial.
- How it goes: Shelley greets you with an upbeat attitude. Match her enthusiasm to make a good first impression.
You can reply with:
“I am SO good, my dude.”
Other options include playful lines like “Go on then,” to encourage her to introduce herself fully, or gently teasing her volume with lines like “Yeah, I can tell by the way you’re yelling” or “Are you upset with me?” She insists she’s not upset and often exits quickly after these exchanges.
She might get a little loud, so if you mention her yelling, she’ll insist she’s not upset and quickly exit the scene.
2. The Feather Duster Scene
On your second visit:
- Shelley admits she’s been thinking about you all night.
- She’s holding a Feather Duster.
You can ask:
“Were you doing some cleaning?”
Shelley hands you the duster as a collectible and shyly requests that you use it on her. Dust gently to avoid scaring her. She’ll open up about her life as a shelf, her longing for supportive friends, and her struggle to keep up a happy front.
When she hints about her situation, you might say:
“Happier?”
She’ll deflect, launching into her positive thinking routine and asking you to return the next day.
3. Walking in Her Shoes
Shelley decides it’s your turn to understand her life. During your third encounter:
- She tries to hug you. Hug her back!
- She shares how Hank used to throw trophies at her instead of placing them gently on shelves.
- She’ll ask you to get on all fours to experience what it’s like being a shelf.
You can add humor with lines like “Wow, hot.” when crawling on the floor, or admit “A little nervous.” when Shelley checks how you’re feeling.
You’ll unlock a collectible after this comedic role reversal. When everything crashes off you, honestly admitting:
“STRESSED!”
…will earn points in Shelley’s book.
4. The Intervention
During your fourth meeting, Shelley’s positivity seems forced. You can tell her:
“Please don’t stress yourself out on my behalf.”
At this point, another Dateable, Dasha the desk, joins the conversation. Dasha bluntly confronts Shelley about avoiding her problems, accidentally hurting her feelings in the process.
Smooth things over by telling Dasha:
“Don’t you think you could have said that a bit nicer?”
The conversation reveals the root of Shelley’s problem: she’s been assembled incorrectly.
Shelley admits her biggest problem is that she’s “improperly mounted,” which fuels much of her stress and anxiety. She confesses nobody else has been willing to help fix it, leaving her feeling isolated—until you show her kindness.
You can ask directly:
“Shelley… are you improperly mounted?”
Shelley confesses that no one else has been willing to help her fix it, and you’re the only person she trusts.
5. The Final Choice
On your last visit:
- Shelley admits that relentless positivity can become toxic.
- She apologizes for how she’s handled her insecurities.
Be understanding:
“I don’t blame you considering your situation.”
Shelley gifts you a diploma certifying you as a shelf—an amusing collectible and a funny reminder of your journey together. She then asks if you’d like to be more than friends.
The friendship and love routes follow the same choices until the very last decision, where you either confess love or choose to remain friends.
Your answer here determines which of three endings you unlock.
Shelley’s Possible Endings
Love Ending
- Keep supporting Shelley while being honest.
- Show patience and kindness during conversations.
- When she asks about becoming more than friends, choose: “I’d love that, Shelley.”
Achieving the Love Ending unlocks Shelley’s final collectible and rewards you with Charm SPECS points.
Friendship Ending
- Follow the same path as the Love route.
- Instead of confessing love, say: “Friends is actually all I’m interested in.”
Shelley will remain cheerful, and your friendship stays intact.
Hate Ending
- Be rude and dismissive throughout your interactions.
- Refuse to help her or listen to her problems.
- When given the choice, shut her down completely.
Shelley will quickly grow to hate you, ending the relationship on a bitter note. Your loss!

To “realize” Shelley and unlock her true form:
- You’ll need to get 50 points each in these SPECS categories:
