S-Tier: Essential Picks

WarbondKey Gear
Helldivers Mobilize!SG-225 Breaker, PLAS-1 Scorcher, Democracy Protects armor passive
Democratic DetonationR-36 Eruptor, CB-9 Exploding Crossbow, GP-31 Grenade Pistol, Thermite Grenades
Steeled VeteransP-4 Senator, Breaker Incendiary, Servo-Assisted armor

1. Helldivers Mobilize! (Launch)

The free starter Warbond remains one of the most valuable. It contains standout weapons like the SG-225 Breaker shotgun and PLAS-1 Scorcher, along with versatile armor sets, cosmetics, and the Democracy Protects armor passive. This perk provides durability and utility even in late-game dives. Mobilize gives every new player a strong foundation without costing a single Super Credit.

2. Democratic Detonation (April 2024)

Explosives define this Warbond. The R-36 Eruptor rifle, CB-9 Exploding Crossbow, GP-31 Grenade Pistol, and Thermite Grenades offer unmatched flexibility against every faction. The loadout options make it one of the most versatile Warbonds available. The only drawback is that weapons like the Eruptor and Crossbow carry a high risk of friendly fire, so careful use is essential.

3. Steeled Veterans (February 2024)

An early premium Warbond that has aged gracefully. The P-4 Senator revolver remains one of the best sidearms in the game, while the Breaker Incendiary shotgun excels at clearing crowds. The Servo-Assisted armor passive improves throwing distance and limb durability, giving it added utility. Steeled Veterans is a reliable pick for anyone looking for long-term value.

A-Tier: Strong, but Situational

WarbondKey Gear
Servants of FreedomDouble-Edge Sickle, GP-31 Ultimatum, Portable Hellbomb
Borderline JusticeR-6 Deadeye, LAS-58 Talon, Hover Pack, Gunslinger armor
Halo: ODST (Legendary)MA5C Assault Rifle, M90A Shotgun, Feet First armor passive
Control GroupVG-70 Variable, PLAS-45 Epoch, Warp Pack, Laser Sentry

4. Servants of Freedom (February 2025)

This Warbond delivers explosive tools for tough missions. The LAS-17 Double-Edged Sickle ramps up damage as it overheats but can set the user on fire if pushed too far. The GP-31 Ultimatum grenade pistol can one-shot vehicles and armored targets but carries heavy self-damage risk. Finally, the Portable Hellbomb is essentially a backpack nuke, devastating in desperate moments. While risky, it’s a fantastic Warbond for high-difficulty missions.

5. Borderline Justice (March 2025)

A space cowboy fantasy with plenty of punch. The R-6 Deadeye lever-action rifle rewards precision with massive single-shot damage, while the LAS-58 Talon revolver offers infinite ammo potential and satisfying spin animations. The Gunslinger armor passive enhances every sidearm with faster reloads, quicker draws, and reduced recoil. Combined with the Hover Pack stratagem, Borderline Justice provides both flair and function.

6. Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST (August 2025)

The first Legendary Warbond, priced at 1,500 Super Credits, is both a collector’s piece and a functional set. It introduces iconic Halo weapons like the MA5C Assault Rifle and M90A Shotgun, alongside the Feet First armor passive, which grants quieter movement, a 30% radar detection boost, and complete immunity to leg injuries. Only the MA5C has medium penetration, while the other weapons function as side-grades to existing gear. Though expensive, the combination of nostalgia and utility makes it a strong choice for Halo fans.

7. Control Group (July 2025)

An experimental Warbond with high-risk, high-reward equipment. The VG-70 Variable rifle shifts between multiple firing modes, while the PLAS-45 Epoch plasma cannon can devastate enemies if charged properly—but risks catastrophic self-detonation. The LIFT-182 Warp Pack enables short-range teleportation that can either save a life or cause instant death, while the Laser Sentry offers strong firepower until it overheats and self-destructs. Control Group is best suited for experienced Helldivers who enjoy chaos.

B-Tier: Niche but Useful

WarbondKey Gear
Cutting EdgeLAS-16 Sickle, Blitzer shotgun, Stun Grenades
Freedom’s FlameCookout shotgun, Torcher, Crisper, Inflammable armor
Truth EnforcersSG-20 Halt, Loyalist pistol, Unflinching armor, Dead Sprint booster
Masters of CeremonyR-2 Amendment, CQC-2 Sabre, Pyrotech grenade, Sample Scanner booster
Force of LawAR-32 Pacifier, GL-52 De-Escalator, Ballistic Padding armor
Viper CommandosAR-23A Carbine, SG-22 Bushwhacker, Experimental Infusion booster
Urban LegendsStun Lance, Anti-Tank Emplacement, Directional Shield, Flame Sentry

8. Cutting Edge (March 2024)

This Warbond stands out for the LAS-16 Sickle, a laser rifle that effectively offers infinite ammo if its heat is managed correctly. The Blitzer lightning shotgun and Stun Grenades are fun but situational. While not as versatile as others, Cutting Edge is a must-have for players who enjoy high-tech energy weapons.

9. Freedom’s Flame (August 2024)

Focused on incendiary damage, this Warbond brings the Cookout shotgun, Torcher, and Crisper flamethrower variants. They are devastating against Terminids and Illuminate melee units but weak against Automatons. The Inflammable armor passive complements the fiery arsenal, making this a thematic but situational pick.

10. Truth Enforcers (October 2024)

A well-rounded set with the SG-20 Halt shotgun, PLAS-15 Loyalist plasma pistol, and armor featuring the Unflinching passive. It also includes the Dead Sprint booster, useful for quick repositioning. While it doesn’t have standout items, the balance across weapons and gear makes it a reliable mid-tier choice.

11. Masters of Ceremony (May 2025)

Designed for roleplay more than practicality, Masters of Ceremony includes the R-2 Amendment rifle, CQC-2 Sabre, and One True Flag melee weapon. The real value lies in the Sample Scanner booster and the Pyrotech grenade, which creates fiery crowd control effects. Most of the rest is cosmetic flair.

12. Force of Law (June 2025)

Crowd control is the theme here. The AR-32 Pacifier and GL-52 De-Escalator focus on stunning enemies rather than killing them outright. The ARC-3 Guard Dog drone is powerful but prone to friendly fire, and the G-109 Urchin grenade has limited area coverage despite its long stun duration. The standout is the Ballistic Padding armor passive, which provides excellent damage resistance and prevents bleed-out.

13. Viper Commandos (June 2024)

A stylish but underpowered Warbond. Weapons like the AR-23A Liberator Carbine and SG-22 Bushwhacker shotgun are adequate but unimpressive. The highlight is the Experimental Infusion booster, one of the best in the game, though the set is hard to recommend for that alone.

14. Urban Legends (December 2024)

Urban Legends introduces the CQC-19 Stun Lance and stratagems like the Anti-Tank Emplacement, Directional Shield, and Flame Sentry. While the stratagems are useful in specific scenarios, most of the set feels situational, and it lags behind others in overall value.

C-Tier: Skip Unless You’re a Collector

WarbondKey Gear
Polar PatriotsPLAS-101 Purifier
Chemical AgentsGas Grenade, Stim Pistol, Sterilizer throwables

15. Polar Patriots (May 2024)

This arctic-themed Warbond is notable for the PLAS-101 Purifier, a powerful energy weapon. Unfortunately, the rest of its gear, such as the Tenderizer and Pummeler, feels lackluster. For most players, it’s worth unlocking only if you specifically want the Purifier.

16. Chemical Agents (September 2024)

Widely considered the weakest Warbond, Chemical Agents leans heavily on chemical throwables and stratagems. The Gas Grenade is the standout, effective for crowd control, but the Stim Pistol only heals teammates and cannot be used on yourself. Overall, this Warbond offers little compared to others and is best skipped unless you’re collecting.

Best Warbonds by Enemy Faction

  • Terminids → Freedom’s Flame (flamethrowers and Cookout shotgun)
  • Automatons → Steeled Veterans (Senator revolver) or Borderline Justice (precision rifles)
  • Illuminate → Cutting Edge (Sickle) or Control Group (Variable rifle and Warp Pack)

Value and Safety Notes

  • Single-item value: Polar Patriots (Purifier) and Chemical Agents (Gas Grenade) are worth unlocking only if you want those specific tools.
  • Friendly-fire risks: The Eruptor and Crossbow (Democratic Detonation), Guard Dog drone (Force of Law), Laser Sentry (Control Group), and Ultimatum grenade pistol (Servants of Freedom) can all harm allies if misused.

Suggested Purchase Path

  1. Democratic Detonation for versatile explosives and grenades.
  2. Steeled Veterans for the Senator and Breaker Incendiary.
  3. Expand based on faction matchups with Cutting Edge or Servants of Freedom, depending on whether you prefer lasers or heavy explosives.
