♦ President Ram Nath Kovind awarded the President’s Colours to the Corps of Army Air Defence at Gopalpur Military Station on completion of 25 yrs as an independent arm, received by Army AD Centre on behalf of the Corps of Army Air Defence

The President’s Colours is the highest honor in recognition of invaluable contribution to the security of the nation by regiments of the armed forces

♦ Indigenously built submarine INS Khanderi by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited Commissioned into the Indian Navy. The name Khanderi is inspired by the ‘Sword Tooth Fish’ a deadly fish and also it was the name of an island fort built by Chhatrapati Shivaji

INS Khanderi is the 2nd of Kalvari Class diesel-electric attack submarines of the Indian Navy

INS Khanderi: Length- 67.5 meters; Height: 12.3 meters

♦ Chief of the Indian Army, General Bipin Rawat to visit the Maldives from 30 September to 03 October 2019 for strengthening bilateral defense ties between the two countries. Bipin Rawat will also meet President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih
