Mechanical Components ARC Raiders: How to Find and Use Them

Mechanical Components are one of the most vital crafting materials in ARC Raiders, serving as the backbone for weapon upgrades, Gunsmith progression, and advanced crafting. Whether you’re exploring the Rust Belt or working from your Workshop base, knowing how to efficiently gather and utilize these materials will save you a lot of time and effort.

What Are Mechanical Components Used For?

Mechanical Components are essential mid-tier crafting resources used to:

  • Upgrade your Gunsmith from level 1 to level 2
  • Craft and upgrade weapons like the Il Toro Shotgun, Burletta, Anvil, Muzzle Break II, and Extended Medium Mag II
  • Build and enhance key workshop utilities such as the Workbench and Refiner

Because they’re required for both weapon tuning and base upgrades, it’s best to keep a steady stock of these in your Stash.

Where to Find Mechanical Components

1. Loot Mechanical Areas

The most straightforward way to find Mechanical Components is by looting Mechanical loot areas spread across the map.

  • Mechanical Field: This hotspot has numerous stashes and containers filled with valuable mechanical loot.
  • Checkpoint at Blue Gate: Known as a high-value zone with potential drops but guarded by heavy ARC presence, including Bastions.
  • Dam Battlegrounds: Easier for beginners and still provides a decent chance to find uncommon loot like Mechanical Components.

These locations typically offer other materials too, such as Metal Parts and Rubber Parts, making them great for multi-purpose resource runs.

How to Craft Mechanical Components

If you’d rather avoid the dangers of Topside, you can craft Mechanical Components using the Refinery in your Workshop.

Crafting Recipe:

  • 7× Metal Parts
  • 3× Rubber Parts

Both resources are common materials, easily obtained through:

  • Looting mechanical and industrial areas
  • Recycling junk or low-tier items
  • Sending Scrappy (if upgraded) to scavenge these automatically

Once you have enough materials, head to the Refinery and start the crafting process. Mechanical Components take a short while to produce but save you from risky expeditions.

Recycling for Mechanical Components

Recycling can also yield Mechanical Components, though it’s less efficient than refining. You can dismantle:

  • Uncommon (green) weapons such as Arpeggio or Anvil
  • Uncommon weapon mods like Extended Light Mag II
  • Upgraded common weapons, e.g., Rattler III, Ferro IV, Stitcher IV

Essentially, if an item costs Mechanical Components to upgrade, you can reclaim them when you scrap it. However, given how easy it is to craft Components, recycling should be used only when clearing out your inventory.

Best Farming Tips

To maximize efficiency:

  • Use Scrappy: Upgrading your companion allows it to collect Metal and Rubber Parts automatically.
  • Focus on lower-risk zones: Dam Battlegrounds is safer and yields consistent results for newer players.
  • Refine regularly: Convert excess low-tier materials in your stash to free up space and maintain a steady supply of high-value resources.
  • Don’t waste rare weapons: Always recycle junk or duplicate Uncommon gear instead of valuable builds.

Mechanical Components form a critical link in ARC Raiders’ crafting ecosystem. Whether you’re building new weapons, upgrading your base, or tuning your arsenal, these materials are the key to long-term survival and progress.

Farm them efficiently through mechanical loot zones, refine them at your Workshop, and manage your stash wisely—you’ll always have what you need when the next raid begins.  Play Now!
